Question about Vtech t2121 Cordless Phone

Open Question

Hi! I purchased a brand new VTECH t2121. It worked fine out of the box for couple of months. Then after a power outage it started with a problem where other people will not listen to me, neither I am able to dial-out. The phone will ring and I can answer, but no one will hear me. I can hear them very well. I had tried unplugging the battery and the power cord for weeks to reset it but the problem remains. Is there any hard reset button to leave the phone in factory settings? Thanks in advance

SOURCE: When someone calls my phone rings 4 times then

You must turn off your internal answering machine. There should be an on and off button somewhere on the main base.

Phones stopped working. They only read

first step is to unplug all power and phone connections from the wall for all Vtech phones and bases.

Second, plug each set and base in the wall for power one at a time.

Go back to the basics and pair the handset with the base of the unit.

Do this for all sets one at a time.

WE HAD POWER OUTAGE/NOW WE HAVE THE LETTER A--WONT GO AWAY

Your machine is set to "Announce" instead of "Answer" mode. The announce mode merely plays an outgoing message but does not record any incoming messages.

Since you neglected to specify the model of your VTech 5.8GHz cordless system I can only suggest you enter it into the search box here to download a copy of the manual to learn how to switch modes.

I can't dial out from my handsets

Here is something to try:

Disconnect or unplug the power supply (the small black box that is plugged into the wall outlet) wait for 30 seconds and then plug it in again. Sometimes the power supply needs to reset itself. It worked for me.

Thanks,

Model28112 series cordless phone multi phones 4 total

This does not sound good. If you have one working phone and you have swapped batteries around and still the same single phone works.... you know it's not the base unit, charger stands, power supplies or batteries. You have eliminated everything but the phone itself. Unfortunatley these low end cordless phones cannot be expected to last. 6 months is pretty bad but I'm not surprized. These sell for $30 each new and I bet a replacement battery is $20.
