Question about HP Wireless Optical Mouse

I took the batteries out and replaced them, now the mouse will not respond. It is an HP PIN 5188-6926

If it worked before you changed the batteries, it should work after changing the batteries.

  • Are they inserted correctly ?
  • Are they new / fresh batteries ?
  • Did you turn the mouse "on" ?
  • Try rebooting you system if the above checks out, so that your system can recognize your mouse

Look under a mouse, there might be some small "connect" or on/off button there. Push it, and look for same button on dongle...
Also check mouse batteries.

We are trying to install 2.4 GHz Wireless keyboard with our HP tower. Right now we have batteries in the mouse and keyboard but all we have on our monitor is a the hpinvent blue screen. It will not...

If it is not responding, I would remove it and restart your computer. Most Mouse providers supply a CD for installing the product and it should be used. Also keep in mind that not all operating systems are compatable with every Mouse, you should check and see if yours is supported. If you do all that and it still does not work, send it back and get another one. You might have a bent pin on the connector or and crossed wire in the mouse or bad connection in the mouse.

The mouse is red and flashing and not responding

this means that ther battery is going low and is in need of replacement,
also if the battery is new just remove the battery for a couple of seconds and reinstall them also make sure that the battery is not loose in the battery compartment ok. please dont forget to give my solution a rating this helps me out too ok?

1) make sure USB key is plugged in and working, try another port
2) check batteries in mouse

Try HP's support site for details on replacing batteries for your model
of wireless mouse.

Mx3000 stopped working, read forums, reset receiver now dashes only when pressing any key. rebooted computer ... now keyboard not responding agian

I got a used MX3200, got the mouse working right off, but no keyboard. This solved my problem: with the wireless mouse working took out the keyboard batteries, pressed connect button on the receiver, replaced the keyboard batteries, pressed connect button on the keyboard. Voila!

Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 stops responding

i would agree that a new one may be needed. i have a desktop set that, the mouse had failed. i got a better microsoft mouse, and i was able to use it with the desktop set.and have all of the functions of the new mouse through the original receiver. hope this helps! good luck.
