We threw the machine away and bought a new one. No-one, including the Siemens helpline could help us.

Empty water light, empty condenser

I experienced the problem with a hotpoint TCYM 750, with the red empty water light failing to switch off. After removing the filter and cleaning it, cleaning the condenser and drying anywhere I had access to the machine still didn't heat and the light remained on. Reading the post about the machine having 3 reservoirs it struck me that one of the reservoirs may be hard to access. So I unplugged the machine and tipped it onto its front. The reservoir drained, I pushed the machine back upright and cleared up some water around the condenser. The drier now works properly and the empty water light is off - job done!

My dryer continually bleeps and says empty container or filter. My m/c is hooked up at back so container never fills and filters are clean!

When you say the filters are clean, do you include the condenser box? (bottom left flap on front panel) If not, take this out, it can be cleaned under a tap or outside hose. The float device in the pump reservoir has to be activated to give the signal that the container is full, there are a few possiblities
1.the pump is broken or blocked and the water is collecting in the base.
2.the drain hoses are blocked, take the drain hose out of the standpipe and blow down it, if is is clear you should hear the collected water in the base gurgle.
3. the float switch is stuck due to fluff build up from waiting too long between flushes of the condenser.
if possible put a very damp teatowel in the machine, once you have checked the above, and check that water is actually being expelled by putting the hose in a bowl.
Hope this helps.

Full water indicator lit continuously even though

Problem was a stuck float in the small water reservoir to the rear left of the unit.. Remove top and left hand side panel. Small reservoir can be seen at the bottom left. Remove small screw and slide off the cable assembly above. You should then see into the reservoir and the float. Clean float and reservoir and reassemble.

Tumble dryer not working

Spoke to my maintenance engineer at work and he said that most of these appliances work by using float switches. After stripping down and drying out the previous day decided to refill reservoir with water and letting drain back in refilled again 15 mins later till no more water could go back in. Then emptied water reservoir and let the water drain back out into reservoir. Think this must have dislodged the float switch and all seems back to normal.

I have a Hotpoint Aquarius dryer TDC30. The 'Empty Water' light stays on even though the reservoir has been emptied. The machine runs but does not warm up. Is this a common problem? has the element...

Float chamber is bunged up ,at the rear of the dryer at the bottom is a black plug / cap pull it off and stick a pipe cleaner
or long cable tie metal coat hanger in it to clear the old wet fluff (have some kitchen roll handy as some water comes out with the wet fluff),
other wise its a total strip down to clear the chamber out.

HOTPOINT AQUARIUS CONDENSER TUMBLE DRYER CTD40

There are three water reservoirs - one at the bottom behind the condenser, a second at the back bottom of the machine and then a third at the top which is the one you would normally pull out to empty.

There is a hole at the bottom of the filter in the first reservoir (at the back of the condenser) which leads to the second reservoir at the back. If the hole gets clogged up with lint/muck then the reservoir at the back does not fill up.

So to solve this, unplug the machine, take out the condenser (front left bottom of the machine) reach through to the back and mop up the spare water with a towel and check that the hole to the back reservoir - you can feel this it is towards the right side at the back of the machine is clear from muck.

Once you have cleared it, water will flow to the second reservoir and then (once you switch on the machine) up to the main removeable reservoir at the top.

Hopefully this helps. GB
