Question about Plumbing

Open Question

Moen model CA87011SRS single handle faucet. Just purchased and installed with no problem... next day the faucet would not turn off. Returned to HOme Depot and got another one. Installed it... same thing... worked great for one day then today it wont turn off. It acts like the o-rings on the ball get stuck under the handle or something. Too much water pressure or what?

SOURCE: I have a moen 7637

1) Use a small sharp-pointed knife and pop out the little plastic Moen logo at the bottom of the front side of the handle (and don't lose it!)
2) Lift the lever up a bit (the water may turn on) until you can see a small screw with an allen wrench socket.
3) Unscrew the allen-head screw; the handle will lift straight up.

Look down into the faucet; there's a philllips head screw. The leaking may simply be caused by this screw being loose.

SOURCE: Moen 7600 kitchen faucet leaking

If you mean that there is leaking from around the base of the handle or the stem instead of the faucet head, that sounds like an O Ring that needs replacement.

Single handle Spray faucet leaks at it's base, leaking under the kitchen sink

If you still have the receipts from the purchase call Moen directly as they warranty their faucets for life and will send you the replacement parts you need. If you need to purchase replacement parts then you can purchase a Moen single lever repair kit from your local hardware store which should run you around $10. Go the the Moen website and look for your model. They generally have an exploded view of every one of their models that will assist you in dissassembling the tap without any surprises. Reassemble the tap with the new o-rings etc installed and test.

I installed a Moen single-handle kitchen faucet last weekend and the water stream gets weaker every day. I've cleaned the aerator. Where do I look next?

Check for debris in the lines. It's possible some type of debris was freed when you turned the valves back on and the water rushed in.
