Question about Comfort Zone Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I bought a Comfort Zone (RedCore Concept R-4-20100625) three months ago and already have a problem! The heater makes a loud noise continually once it has hearted up and after I turn the heater off the noise continues until the it has cooled down. I assume it is a fan but do not know for sure. Is there any way i can try to fix this myself? I was told by the store that I bought it from that repairs would have to be done via Comfort Zone. I would like to avoid the hassle of shipping it off, etc.

If it's under warranty, the "hassle of shipping it off is small", compared to possibly doing more damage, while trying to repair it yourself and voiding the warranty. Once they repair it, the warranty starts over again. Just make sure you get authorization from Comfort Zone, before shipping it to them..

Dear Support Manager, I bought a comfort zone steel fan less than six months ago and it stop working already. I notice the motor is a bit hot. Model #czhvp18ex

I'm not the support manager you speak of, but spray some oil into the bearings/bushings on each end of the shaft to lubricate it and it will work fine. The motor gets hot because the bearings/bushings have no lubrication. You have to do this once in a while to make sure it doesn't seize up.

My comfort zone cz792 utility heater will come on and fan will blow and it will stop thn start then stop and was not doing this a week ago when i first bought it. what is causing this?

With the heater unplug from power source, check for continuity between the two terminals on the thermostat. If you get an indication on your multi-meter of infinity, then the contacts of the thermostat are working correctly. No indication of continuity, is probably because the contacts ofthe thermostat have burned out and have decrease in thickness, breaking the circuit. I know of no place in which you can find a replacement thermostat. The contacts on the particular heater where evidently designed of inferior material. I have had two and had the same problems with both. You get what you paid for.

Unless you want a new house, stop using that heater immediately. There are severe internal electric problems with your heater. Since it's already 3 years old, I'm not sure it's worth trying to repair. With what you described, I'm surprised it didn't trip one of you circuit breakers.

Be safe, Don't continue to try to use this heater.

My comfort zone 1500wo isn't cycling on and off. Do you know what is happening & how to fix it?

Hi, I just got my comfort zone 1500w and same thing. I called Comfort Zone this morning at 1-800-221-6895, they are most pleasant and helpful. She said it was because I had it on the energy saving mode. When it is set to that the fan runs continuously and never shuts off. She said to put it to the low or high setting and once the temp is reached, it will automatically shut off. Then when the temp drops it will turn on. Cycling off and on doesn't work with the energy saving function - she couldn't really give me an explanation for it just said don't use it if I want it to cycle off and on. Hope this helps.

Fan of VAIO CS-118E makes loud sounds

That is definitely a problem from the fan. What you can do is to call sony and check if they still cover Fan replacement for this specific mode.
