Question about Samsung SL202 Digital Camera

1 Answer

I've barely used this camera. After taking a picture last night, I thought I'd change the settings. When I pushed the menu button, it froze up and the screen went blank. It has remained this way. It won't turn off and none of the other buttons get a response. I just want to turn it off at this point because it's getting a little warm. Thanks, janetemmert@gmail.com

Thank you! That fixed everything. I'm an idiot for not thinking to take the battery out. Thanks again.

Take the battery out, ASAP... Wait until it cools, see if that will reset it; if it doesn't and it is less than a year old your warranty is still in effect.

How do I set time and date

To set the clock, have good batteries in. Slide the selector to Setup (middle setting).
Push the large right button marked MENU.
Push one of the right side buttons, above the word SHOT, these are the right > and left < buttons. Push repeatedly until you see
Set Mode
Set Clock
Set where the last Set should be outlined in dark. Now push the OK button which is the large left button.
Choose the field to update with the right side buttons > or <, once you have the one to update, use the left side up and down buttons to change the value shown until it is correct. Choose the next field with the right side < or >, update the value with the left side buttons. Only when you are completed with updating all of the date and time values, do you hit OK to set them all.
After this all pictures will have the correct time available. Though you have to choose in one of the other menus whether to show the timestamp on the picture. The picture will have the date and time associated with the file when you take the card out to view it later.

Your coin battery that powers the memory system of your camera may be failing. This battery keeps your settings and powers your on board computer. Do not confuse this with your picture battery, as that only powers the lens and picture taking ability. The coin battery holds the program. See page 38 of your manual "Replacing the Date/Time battery."

Canon sd 750 how to put the date in the picture?

here is the solution:
The date and time can be included on the pictures taken only with the camera in postcard mode. You must also activate the date stamp option in the menu.
To set the camera into postcard mode, press the [Func.] button on the camera, then use the [arrow down] key to go down to the last option in the menu, and there you can choose the [Postcard mode]. Press [Func.] again to exit the function menu.

To set the date and time stamp, press the [Menu] button and then use the [arrow down] button to go to the [Date stamp] option in the menu. You can set this to "Date" or "Date & Time". Press the [Menu] button again to exit the menu.

Grainy pictures at night

Hi

Low light without a flash will always cause grainy pictures unless you have a very high end camera that can shoot at very high ISO speeds like 6400 and up.

Try changing the camera from the green camera 'auto' setting to "P" and then press the Menu button (I think it's Menu) and look for the different mode settings. There should be one for Night or Night Portrait or similar, I can't recall Sony terms and I don't have one here to check sorry.

Your other option is to use the flash, try it with Red Eye turned on if possible.

Hope this helps.

Black pictures

Check your settings - could be if very black night, and you set it to 100 iso film speed, and maybe you are on say 1/1000 of sec at maybe f16, then that's ok. You would maybe need an explosion in an oil refinery to capture much.

However, you perhaps could try this:

1 change the battery for fresh one, and see if it helps - sometimes, the shutter won't really shut if battery power is very low

2. change the mode setting to auto, and see if the flash pops up and takes a pix - then if the pix is good, the camera is still working

3. Reset the camera to the factory defaults, by:

  • Firstly press the 'menu' button, then the up button above the 'OK' as many times as needed, until you see the top folders are highlighted.

  • Press the right button near the 'OK' until you see the last folder highlighted. You will know this is highlighted when you see the first menu option that says 'Language'. The 3rd one down from that says 'Clear Settings'.

  • Press the down button under the 'OK' until 'Clear Settings' is highlighted, then press the 'OK' button.

  • Scroll up to your choice and press 'OK' to reset your Canon 400D back to default factory settings.
If that fails, back to Canon! - good luck

Taking pictures outside at night

there are so many solutions to this I barely know where to begin.

First, set the Dial to M, then on the multimode (round) button, push on the left side to bring the exposure time up. For night shots I find that F2.7 and any time of 1" or more yields fairly good shots.

You should see the change in the view finder, or the lcd if you're one to use that.

Camera Frozen

Hi,

I tried Option No.1 successfully when my Panasonic DMC-FZ7K froze once:

Option No1:

1. Try turning the camera on with the battery inserted.

2. Now remove the battery while the camera is on.

3. Flip the switch on the camera to off, then insert a fully charged battery. (Make sure that the battery's orientation is correct. Also make sure that the battery being used is not damaged).

4. Now flip the camera's switch to ON again.
------------------------------------------------------------
Option No. 2:

If you can open the Setup menu then the camera can be reset which might help:

Turn on the camera.

1. Press MENU SET.

2. Press the left arrow button.

3. Press the down arrow button.

4. Press the right arrow button.

5. Now, press the up arrow button several times until the menu item named RESET is highlighted. Push the right arrow button and then select and set YES when the camera asks to be reset.
