Question about B&K Reference 200.2 2-Channel Amplifier

Open Question

I have a reference 200.2 B&K, and I am looking for a service manual or a diagram circuit, for checking its operation. the problem started with a left channel not working and then the sound started to become lower in the right and a little bit distorted and loosing high sounds, becoming a sound with no middle or high notes: to much bass but at lower range. I revised internal fuses and speaker fuses, changed some and the problem persist, although the left started to work but the sound continued low and not clear; I do not know if I have to replace the line fuse also ( could be possible that such fuse be damaged and cause a different voltage to the amp and influence its operation? ) fuse line is a 250V 12 A, time delay ceramic fuse. I do not know if a damaged time delay fuse (even line or rails) while not completely blown still permits working the amp but not efficiently. I live offshore the US and in my country there is no a B&K dealer nor a service for this brand, that is why I am looking for diagrams for getting technical support in my country. Best could be send it for service in the US but it is an expensive and the last resource. Please give a clue for checking my system. (a B&K PT5 preamp and a pair of Martin Logan Speakers -Aeon- complete the system) Thanks for th ehelp. Estuardo

There are a few fuses inside the amplifier. The case lid will come off pretty easily once you remove all the screws. You can visually inspect fuses looking for the blown one (filament will be broken), or use a multimeter for ceramic fuses. However, the fuses in my B&K ST-1400 do have transparent cases. If once you replace the fuse, it blows again, then that would suggest an underlying problem.,

With these it all depends on your budget. Some shops will let you try them out for the best results also. If you are in the UK have a word with the guys at Richer Sounds, they will sort you out. Elsewhere try and find a place that will let you try before you buy. After all it's all personal choice, your hearing isn't the same as me or anyone else's.

2007 Buick Lacrosse Door Locks not working getting weak


Important: If all 3 passenger door locks are inoperative from both door lock switches, test the unlock control circuit between the splice and the BCM for an open.? Do you know how to do this ? Looking at a wiring diagram an using a DMM - digital multi-meter ?

Install a scan tool.
Close all of the vehicle doors.
With the scan tool, observe the Right Front (RF) Door Lock Switch parameter in the Data Display, Inputs list of the body control module (BCM).
Operate the front passenger door lock switch to both the LOCK and UNLOCK positions.
Did the parameter change to both the LOCK and UNLOCK states?
Go to Step 7

Important: If the 3-amp fuse of the jumper wire opens when the jumper wire is connected, test the appropriate signal circuit for a short to battery positive voltage.
Disconnect the harness connector of the front passenger door lock switch.
Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the lock switch lock signal circuit of the harness connector and a ground.
Observe the RF Door Lock Switch parameter.
Connect the 3-amp fused jumper wire between the lock switch unlock signal circuit of the harness connector and a ground.
Observe the RF Door Lock Switch parameter.
Did the Scan Tool parameter change to the both the LOCK and UNLOCK states?
Go to Step 6

  • The wipers stay on continuously
  • Windshield wiper motor.
  • Multifunction switch.
  • Circuitry.
  • Go To Pinpoint Test B .
PINPOINT TEST B: THE WIPERS STAY ON CONTINUOUSLY Test Step Result / Action to Take B1 CHECK THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH
  • Key in OFF position.
  • Disconnect: Multifunction Switch C202b.
  • Carry out the multifunction switch component test. Refer to Wiring Diagrams Cell 149 for schematic and connector information.
  • Did the multifunction switch pass the component test?
Yes
GO to B2 .

No
INSTALL a new multifunction switch. REFER to Section 211-05 . B2 CHECK CIRCUIT 57 (BK) FOR AN OPEN
  • Measure the resistance between C202b pin 5, circuit 57 (BK), harness side and ground.
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
GO to B3 .

No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation. B3 CHECK CIRCUITS 56 (DB/OG), 58 (WH), 61 (YE/RD), AND 63 (RD) FOR SHORTS
  • Disconnect: Windshield Wiper Motor C125.
  • Using the following table, measure the resistance between the windshield wiper motor C125 harness side and ground:

    Windshield Wiper Motor C125 Ground pin 10, circuit 56 (DB/OG) ground pin 11, circuit 58 (WH) ground pin 1, circuit 61 (YE/RD) ground pin 9, circuit 63 (RD) ground
  • Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes
GO to B4 .

No
REPAIR the circuit(s) in question. TEST the system for normal operation. B4 CHECK FOR CORRECT WIPER MOTOR OPERATION
  • Disconnect all wiper motor connectors.
  • Check for:
    • corrosion
    • pushed-out pins
  • Connect all wiper motor connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
  • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
  • Is the concern still present?
Yes
GO to B5 .

No
The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. TEST the system for normal operation. B5 CHECK THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR
  • Key in OFF position.
  • Disconnect: Windshield Wiper Motor C125.
  • Carry out the windshield wiper motor component test as outlined in this section.
  • Did the windshield wiper motor pass the component test?
Yes
The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by binding or incorrect pivot arm adjustment. REFER to Windshield Wiper Blade and Pivot Arm Adjustment in this section. TEST the system for normal operation.

Cost for a 200 amp circut breaker


Any home supply store can give you the local cost. An additional cost will be even greater than just changing breakers. You must also change out the incoming service drop conductors. There may also be a need to have the power company's transformer supplying you home changed out. Check it out to be sure.

A 200 amp circuit breaker has a large spring to assist in rapid opening and closing a load of this size to minimize damaging arcing every time is it operated under electrical load

The larger the circuit breaker is and the more poles (1, 2 or 3) that are being opened / closed; the more force it will require to operate - both by hand or when tripping. Compare the tension or force you need to apply to a similar sized circuit breaker at Home Depot, etc.

The troubling issue about this for me is the fact that the 200 amp service disconnect / main is tripping. This is an indication of an overloaded panel / circuit. I usually see individual circuits that trip in a panel - but often find the that main breaker has only 20% - 60% of its rating on it at any given time. If you're tripping a 200 amp service disconnect / main breaker repeatedly - something has got to give - and eventually the circuit breaker will fail. That may be where you are now with this breaker. You may be in need of a service upgrade (if it is the service disconnect) as clearly, you have out grown the 200 amp size one you currently have or need add a new sub-panel to ease the load that this 200 amp main is trying to supply now.

Either way, you should call a reputable electrical contractor to have your service / sub-panel evaluated very soon. Good luck!

This work requires a license (or qualified person) everywhere that the National Electrical Code is enforced.

If you're asking how to wire a single phase 200 amp panel from a larger, 3 phase panel of the same voltage - ONE way is to install a 2 pole - 200 amp breaker into the 3 phase panel. Provide 4 correctly sized conductors with the correct insulation in a cable or conduit between the 3 phase panel and the 200 amp single phase panel. Two of these conductors should be black and red (for 120/208 volt system) and connect to the 2 pole - 200 amp circuit breaker terminals, the third should be white and connected to the neutral bus bar. The forth should be green and is connected to the neutral bus bar as well but *only if* it is "service equipment" If it is a "main or sub panel", the green wire should be connected to the ground bus bar. The other end of the conductors should be terminated in a "main lug only" 200 amp panel. The back and red connect to "line 1" and "line 2" bus lugs, the white to the neutral bus bar that is NOT electrically connected to the panel enclosure (do not install the screw or strap between the bar and enclosure). The green must be connected by installing a separate bar that is securely fastened both mechanically and electrically to the enclosure for ground connections.

There is a great deal going on here - and plenty of variables that can change how to do this work, safely and correctly. This is an example of just ONE of many different ways to do the work for a particular installation. There is no one way that works for all situations. If your situation does not support this method - you will have an unsafe installation and subject the building and people in it to a dangerous fire / safety hazard.

Please, consult a licensed electrician before attempting this work.

If you are using a Manual transfer switch, then you should manually operate the system. Why don't you use the switch it came with? Why would you use a 200a manual transfer switch on a 17kw generator? The idea is to move your critical circuits into the transfer switch panel. Then it would operate in auto.
