Check the magnet seal around the inside pf the door and make sure they are grabbing. You can put the front legs of the fridge down a little more so it gives the doors a back swing when closing. Make sure your hinges are set plume (level) of the doors will not close right at all. Kids hanging on the doors will do this.

Why the freezer door opens when the refrigerator is closed?

I have a refrigerator with a top freezer that was constantly popping open, just enough to let the heat in and melt anything inside. This can also cause heavy frost build up from condensing humidity in the air. The frost can build up on the front face of the fridge where it meets the magnetic gasket on the door making it even harder to keep the freezer closed.
The cause in my case was that slamming the refrigerator door sent a puff of air through the ductwork to the freezer above. The sudden pressure increase popped the freezer door open and the door wasn't heavy enough to close on its own. Since this is a beer fridge in my garage I fixed it by putting a stick on childproof latch from H-D on the freezer door. :-)
If this was our main fridge indoors, I would first check to see how much force it takes to open the freezer vs. the refrigerator section. It should be about the same. If not, check the freezer door gasket to be sure no food or ice is built up on it and that the mating surface is clean. Check that the door is closing parallel to the mating surface. A misalignment would make it hard for the gasket to seal or stay sealed. Adjust hinges if necessary. If all seems ok, check to see if the fridge is level or possibly needs to be adjusted so it tilts back just a bit to make the doors self closing and not fighting gravity to stay closed. If all else fails, inspect the door gasket to be sure it isn't broken or stiffened with age. Inspect the bottom of the door gasket with a mirror. I once had a side by side with what looked like a good gasket until I felt around the bottom of the door. Replace if necessary.

Adjusting doors to stay closed

It is not a matter of adjusting the doors. It is a matter of adjusting the legs so that the front legs are taller than the back. This causes the entire refrigerator to tilt toward the back, which is what makes the doors close by themselves. Your installer should have done this for you, as it differs between locations. It takes at least 2 people to do this: one person tilts the refrigerator back by pushing on the front of the freezer door, and the other person carefully rotates the front legs of the refrigerator until they lengthen about 1/2 inch - each! You might have to slide the whole refrigerator forward to give you some space behind it to allow tilting. Don't adjust the rear legs - not needed unless someone has unthreaded them in error, or for some unknown reason.

Normally the most common fix for the doors is to level the cabinet. Leveling the cabinet will also adjust the doors to help level them and help them close properly.

Door needs to be adjusted as it seem to be hanging lower on open

slightly loosen the bolts on the hinges enough to scoot the door into the correct position and it will stay until you tighten the bolts on the hinges. It may take a couple of tries but that is the way to do it until the door seals and closes properly =)

The refrigerator door (not the freezer door) does not close.

Is it closing flush when pushed up or is it not making good contact all around? 2 things can be wrong, the surround needs to be cleaned on the door and fridge and if it still doesn' stick you will need to replace. You can adjust the door slightly at the hinges but only if its loose should you need to. If its tight then it has not shifted and i would focus on the surround clening/replacing first

Side by side freezer door pops open

This is a problem inherent with lots of refrigerators. Side by side or top freezer. The rush of air pops the doors. You might want to adjust the pitch of the box by adjusting the front wheels to a higher level.

Refrigerator Door not staying closed

Try to raise by adjust the 2 front footing slightly higher than the back, this will tilt the unit slightly backwards. That will help the door to close back by itself.
