Try running it in dosbox www.dosbox.com it works for a lot of games, or it might be that your graphics card just isn't good enough, but as you say its a old game, i cant see how the graphics card would be inferior, you do have the latest drivers installed for your graphics card, don't you?

I CANT LOAD THE DRIVERS FOR MY GFORCE 210 palit GRAPHICS CARD AND THUNDER MASTER

Hello try to install the newest driver from here:

http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/57095

This is the 32 bit version.

Here is the 64 bit version:

http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/57096

If i am wrong by my selection, use autodetect here:

http://www.geforce.com/drivers

You have know the right driver for your windows system.

A 32 bit version will not work on a 64 bit system and so on.

The yellow triangle, means the driver is wrong or malfunctioning.

Please uninstall ALL old nvidia software, before you install the new.

Hope this will get you running again

Can not play 16 bit humongous "backyard soccer" on either my new windows 7 64 bit pc of new imac

Because its not made for Mac, or the version of windows you have. Sorry, but there are some older games that will not run on 64 bit operating systems, windows 7 or vista, and macintosh operating system.

Hi, phoogland!

Older products aren't compatible with newer OS. The best way you can play these games is probably by emulating a virtual PC. Try installing Windows 98 on a Windows Virtual PC.

Here's a link to a detailed manual: http://www.essjae.com/virtualization/WinVPC-InstallingWin98.pdf

If this didn't fix your issue please let me know. Hope this helped you!

Haj i have an old version of corel gallery magic, compatible with windows 95. So it doesent work with windows 7 can I get some help or is it usless my old corel thankyou anyhow

Anette,

The reason is that a 64 bit machine will have to have a 64 bit operating system and 64 bit programs running on it. Windows 95 and all programs written for it were 32 bit. Hence they will not run on a 64 bit Win7. Therefore the Windows 95 program is of no use to you. However is you find a machine with Windows Vista 32 bits or XP, then it will run no doubts.

Direct3D 6? Wow, the game must be way older than your computer. You probably installed DirectX 10 or later. There were major changes after DirectX 9. The software routines to manage graphics hardware acceleration through DirectX 10 or newer are probably very different from DirectX 6, so the game's graphic controller interface can't find them.

Try going into the game properties (right-click on the main executable file and select Properties from the pop-up menu).
Set it to run in XP compatibility mode and see what happens.

Check to see if the game has the option to run without hardware acceleration. If this provides acceptable performance, that is your answer.

If necessary (and if Microsoft still makes it available), try installing DirectX 6. Vista may snag on it and make you remove it and reinstall a newer version, but it's worth a shot if the other fixes don't work.

Any way to run backyard soccer on a 64 bit vista computer? Thanks for the help!

I also have this same problem. When I try to run the game, a message box appears saying it can not run due to incompatibility with 64-bit windows. Is there anyway to play the game if this happens?
