Go into your bios. Make sure your cd drive is the FIRST BOOT DEVICE. Then put in your windows disc and do a startup repair.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 stuck in windows boot manager file \windows\system32\config\system status: 0xc000014c info: windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing or corrupt ...

Here's part of an article on how to replace that registry file:

Look in the C:\windows\system32\config\regback\ folder.
There should be copies of the registry files stored inside that folder.
They are backed up periodically and stored in that folder.

If you create a MiniWin, BartPE, or a Linux Live CD, you can start the computer from CD and move the file system to the required folder, C:\windows\system32\config\.

If not, hold Fn While powering on the system and run diagnostics the Hard Drive might be failing

Keep getting this message <window

Hello,
  • "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
    <Windows root>\system32\hal.dll.
Please re-install a copy of the above file."

  • "<Winnt_root>\System32\Hal.dll missing or corrupt:
Please re-install a copy of the above file."

  • "Cannot find \Windows\System32\hal.dll"

  • "Cannot find hal.dll"
The "missing or corrupt hal.dll" error displays shortly after the computer is first started. Windows XP has not yet fully loaded when this error message appears. CauseCauses of the "missing or corrupt hal.dll" error include, naturally, a damaged hal.dll DLL file or a hal.dll file that has been deleted or moved from its intended location.Additional causes may include a damaged or missing boot.ini file or possibly a physically damaged hard drive.

Please let me know you have any further questions or concerns.
Thanks.

Dell inspiron 910 operating system not found

Windows seems to be corrupt - vital windows files missing. Load the Operating System CD and see if u can run the system file checker to replace files that are missing.... OR, save data externally and restore the system.

Dell 1501 vios2.6.2. reads missing operation system..then after 18 seconds it shutdown..pls..help... anybody has many opinion to fix it i appriciate it very much. tnks..

Missing operating system errors generally indicate a hard drive read failure. This could be for several causes.
  1. Hard drive failure (Run diags on the drive, if you get an error code, then time to replace)
  2. Software corruption (Too many possible causes to list
  3. Virus

So run Diags Fn+ Power, see if HDD passes diags, if it does, then boot to your windows CD and go to recovery console in XP, (Repair My Computer in Vista/7) in recovery console, run the command CHKDSK /R
If that doesn't resolve, then try a repair install of windows;

Notebook won't reboot because windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing or corrupt.

Hi...

This is a Operating System problem, did you face and error during you've reformat your computer. Some of the components of your Operating System are corrupted you need to re install the windows CD to fix the problem.
Mostly of the causes in this problem is not shutdown the computer properly,

Note: If you can not shutdown you computer properly it will cause file corrupted.

Computer wont turn on

Hi there.
The reason you are getting the blue screen of death is because the registry has become corrupt so the machine will not boot into windows even if you try in safe mode.
The only way you can sort this problem now is to recover the system either by using any recovery disks you got with the computer or the recovery partition (if you have one) other than that you have to purchase a disk and reinstall the operating system.
If you have any data that you need from the HDD you will have to take it out and plug it to another computer as a slave/storage drive and extract your data before reinstalling the operating system.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!
