Question about Sirius Satellite Radio Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

My unit is turning off when I hit a bump. I have two different bases in 2 different vehicles and it's doing it in both. So, it's something in the unit itself rather than a connection. Any ideas?

You power jack has come unsoldered. You can try to resolder it yourself, or buy a repair service from someone on ebay.

Have a 2007 Dodge Dakota keeps stalling when hit bumps and turn

Only 2 thoughts come to mind having had vehicle with similar issue. 1) Iffy electrical connection to fuel pump that jostles loose on bumps and turns. Or 2) worse, a pinhole leak in the fuel line that unless jostled away from frame or other point of friction that made the pinhole runs fine but when contact lost from "plug" it sucks air and air hits carb/injectors. A Chiltons/Haynes repair manual may well give some answers other than what I have to offer.

2005 Trailblazer, squeaking noise in the right and left rear after vehicle warms up after driving several miles and begins squeaking when hitting minor bumps in the road..

If it has a multi-link rear suspension that is fitted with rose joints it could be one or more of those.

Mostly in the case of vehicle noise assistants are needed to bounce the car to duplicate the noise while someone is underneath with a stethoscope listening.

Careful inspection with a good light can sometimes show something that has been moving that shouldn't be moving. Such things are often able to be seen by a different coloured line around the object or some rusty-coloured powder.

A vehicle mechanic would hope for a more comprehensive description than "squeak" as an aid to recognising it and locating it. Is it for instance, a rubber, plastic or metal type noise? Is it a noise that is heard only when large bumps are driven over or is it a more rapid jiggly sort of noise?

Bumping noise in rear of Buick LeSabre

If you have fitted new shockys I suggest you check the travel of the units as it sounds as if they are bottoming out Pistons hitting bottom of internal cylinder.

Put a torsion key lift on my 98 silverado. Thts new offset torsion keys cranked up for around 2 inches of lift. Truck rides rough as to be expected but it's so bad when yu hit a bump it just bounc

BY raising the body 2'' you have in fact extended the travel required in the shockys by 2''. IN short the piston in the shockys are probably now hitting the upper end of the case inside. The bump stops for the upper arm will now have extra clearence if they are on top or probably no clearence if they are situated under the arms. In raising the body I hope you took into account the new drive line angles for the drive shafts as they will now be operating at a different angle close to max permitted, and will result in premature shaft failure.

Front end noise

Could be coming from a shock. Also some of those vehicles have a rubber bumper and if it is broken or missing, depending how bad the bumps are vehicle could be bottoming out....in ohter words you might not have a rubber bumper to absorb the bounce.

My Alante cuts off/stops when I hit a bump. I have to turn it off and restart all over again until i hit the next bump. this is very annoying and dangerous if i hit a bump crossing the street as I am stuck...

More than likely there is a loose connection somewhere. It could be at the batteries, the joystick or both. First I would need to know if it is an Alante or an Alante Jr.

Can you provide me with the serial number off the unit?

I hit a bump at 65 on freeway and my jeep 2006 jeep wrangler unlimited with 28000 miles went into a death wobble what do you think caused it and what needs to done to correct it?

You will want to look for a broken sway link on the front or back. On the front it's normally a vertical piece made of metal or plastic that connects the fat rod going across the front of the vehicle to a knuckle near the base of each shock tower. On the back it is similar vertical piece, but it may look a little different than the front.

Suspension and steerin wheel

It is difficult to just assess wut is causing the suspension knock. U will have to go under the vehicle or let someone who is experience about this do it. Go under the vehicle and check the entire suspension system, steering ends, rack ends, ball joionts, rubber bushings etc. Well u said u have changed ur shocks but no difference. As for the squeaks, this might be coiming from the universal joint from the steering column. Like I said they really have to be inspected.

Registering handset to base

I reviewed the user guide for that model, and I only see that it is an answering machine. I may indeed be wrong, but is there a chance you have a different model unit? Regardless of the model, normally you have to put the base in registration mode simultaneously when the handset it put in registration mode like you were doing before. If you do not have the user guide you can join Beoworld.org for $27 a year and download it for "free". I am curious to know if you have a different model or if you can register cordless handsets to the 1200. Maybe you can post an update. Just learning this model myself. Good Luck
