Question about Televison & Video
Where can i get the coollant and can i put it in myself. the tv repair shop out here want 75-100 dollars just to look at it
You can get the entire to replace the coolant for less than what the tV shop wants to come look at it. And the kit comes with all the coolant for all three tubes and has the instruction CD which explains the entire coolant change process step by step with pictures. Its a very easy process with the CD. Plus they have free instant message tech support in case you need help. Its listed under the repair kit category, and its called phillips CRT coolant replacment kit.
Heres the link.

The TV shuts off because the shutdown circuit it turning the TV set off. The shutdown circuit does this because of an over-current condition. I would advise that you take the TV to a qualified TV repair shop.
I hope this helps,
