Question about Kenmore Dryers
I suspect the vent is the issue with your dryer. It sounds like the air is not moving to the outside well and is keeping the interior too hot. The filter housing may also be plugged. Make sure the vent is clear all the way to the outside. Be certain that the hose is not kinked or crushed behind the dryer and is as short as possible. You may change the operating thermostat as well.
