Epson PM240 Photo printer HAS WRONG COLORS

After replacing ink cartridge two times, it does not print correct colors. I had worked for two years pronting perfect pictures. The sat idle for 4 months and upon attempt to use, it said ink low and would not print. I purchased genuine TS846 ink and paper units. After installation, the colors were way off. It would print black as a brown color, green folage is blue. facial colors are close to normal. How does one "
clean the nozzels or the jets. I have moved and lost my operators manual.
Con you help?

Hi

You should try to use a different cartridge to see if it is the cartridge or the printer itself.

Also, make sure that all of the colors are coming out of the cartridge. You can touch a moistened kleenex to the head to check this.

you should also try a deep clean.

1. Right-click the printer icon, and then select 'Properties'.

2. Click the 'Maintenance' tab, and then click 'Deep Cleaning'.

3. Select 'All Colors', 'Black' or 'Color' for the print head to be cleaned.

4. Read the message displayed, and then click 'OK'. The power lamp blinks and print head deep cleaning starts. (Do not perform any other operations until print head deep cleaning is complete. Print head deep cleaning takes about 1 minute.)

Please let me know how all of this goes and we can try further things if this is still a problem.

Thanks

You may need to update the software runing the device, like the utility and the drivers for it., click on the link below to get the updates.

http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=72104&infoType=Downloads

once updated, you may want to run the cleaning utility of the printer and the Color Callibration (usually done on test prints)

hope this helps. good luck

Whenever I load photos onto my photo frame from the PC, they all seem to transfer just fine. But then when running the slideshow, not all the pictures are showing up. When I go into the photo menu on the...

The issue may be due to the file types of the pictures you are sending to the frame. You did not include the model number of the frame, so I can't be sure of the file types it can display but generally, JPG file types enjoy the most compatibility on such devices.

You should determine the file types of the images you are sending to the display. While displaying the slideshow, make a note of an image that displays properly. Look at the the image on your computer and check the file details to learn which file type it is. Play the slideshow on the frame and double check as many as you can against the list / thumbnails on the computer. After a short time, a trend show be visible. You may find that JPG and GIF files display properly, but TIF and others do not.

If you want those pictures to display, you'll have to convert them to one of the file types that does display. If you're finding that only some JPG (or other displayable file type) do not display properly, you'll have to see what is different. Sometimes, very large files may not display correctly, or it may have "too much color" information (they might be a 16 bit graphic or 16 million colors instead of an 8 bit graphic or 256 colors), or some other issue that isn't readily apparent. You can try resizing or converting to yet another format that is supported by the display (GIF for instance).

This is a starting point - hopefully you'll find the issue within one of these suggestions. Good luck! Please rate my reply - thank you.

Even lines right across my photographs

There may be dried up ink on the side of the waste well where the head parks. You will need to get several q=tips ans lightly wet them with water. Then clean anywhere there are smaers or globs of ink. You will have to have the printer unplugged and the head will need to be moved to the other side of the printer from where it normally parks. It often takes a lot of cleaning.

Can i substitute a cd 12v 0.1A for a cd 9v 2

No, the voltage and amperage must match for the electronics to work correctly. Using teh wrong power supply is dangerous and could both damage the frame and be a fire hazzard in your home.

I want to print photgraph on 8.5 x 14'' photo paper. I need them to fill the page. How do I do this?

I tried to set "boarderless" on paper size 8.5x14in photo paper but it seems that this settings is disabled in that paper size. The tick button for "borderless" is active only on certain paper sizes like A4.

Kodak EasyShare

Hello,

All paper that will fit your paper tray will work. However, it is questionable that all ink will. Each cartridge has a unique chip inside that instructs the printer what the fluid level is and if its been refilled. To keep one cartridge design from being used in the wrong printer there is usually a design in the shape so that it will either not fit or not lock in place.

You can use any Kodak paper, yes. You cannot use any cartridge, no.

Best,
Worldvet
