V belts should be available at any local power tranmission supply store or even most auto parts stores. Take the old one with you or if it is missing you'll need to know the diameter of both pulleys, the distance between the two shafts, center to center, for the shafts the pulleys mount on and the width at the top of either pulley to know belt width.

Montgomery Ward Gil 39012B Tiller Manual

First the belts are 200555 for wheel drive and 200554 for tine drive. Just check for Western Auto and those numbers you should find them on EBAY easily they are 3/8 x46 and 1/2 x46 if memory serves me.

I bought my tiller from Ward in 1977 or 1978 , here is the manual I share http://www.mediafire.com/view/?6fadkdi9d6l338j

When the clutch is disengaged the tines still turn.

If you email me at fbarnes@mfa-inc.com I have a couple of Econo-Horse manuals that I downloaded that I can email to you. They don't really have a clutch just belts and pulleys so its probably just needing a new belt or a belt tension adjustment. I have a Econo-Horse tiller and it is a nice machine I think mine is about the same age as yours.

Good Luck,

Frank

How to put gearbox back together on mtd reartine tiller . its apart in a box and haveing troublle with the forward and reverse gears

If you will go to the link below you should be able to find a parts diagram for your gearbox. It is about the only way to see how it all goes back together. It would be too difficult to try to walk you through it here.

I need a forwward cable for an earthquake reartine rototiller #5020dm how to order. thanks

I googled Earthquake 5020DM tiller and show a site that has a technical manual. It has the diagrams and parts numbers. It looks like the forward and reverse cable are the same. You may have to call ARDISAM direct to get the cable.

Both belts shredded. Atlas garden tiller model 12 -5100

I bought a repair manual from Clymer and found the belt sizes for my Atlas 12.5022 tiller. The manual lists a 1/2 inch by by 36 inch forward belt and 1/2 inch by 32 inch reverse belt for the model 12-5100. Good luck. Don't bother to buy the Clyme manual. It isn't very complete.
