Connect to internet

Was conn. to int. accidently lost power //lost int.conn.when power turned back on what can I do as I am old & comp. illiterate --possibly stupid as well.

    I used incorrect account name 7server name etc when setting up int. explorer now can`t get in to change or correct now it won`t load..What is the answers

    ok the first problem solved ,thanks you did good as they say ..//next I have a problem with int. exp. as explained in previous comment,ie Have filled in the wrong info. when signing in ,now can`t get back in to fix it up ,What to do ??

    thanks to all for the well meaning advise.however it seems that when I had a power out I lost the info.so all I needed was to start ouer ..thanks again

The first thing to do is call your service provider. If you can get online, but not logged in, then they can reset your account and give you the username and password. If you can't even do that, then you should uninstall the provider software and reinstall it and try again. If you need the software, then you should again contact the service provider and have them send you new software which may take a few days. Please let me know if you have any other questions

    I'm sorry are you referring to me? What exactly did you do so far? You are using what kind of connection and who is your service provider? When you open Internet Explorer what comes up exactly to keep you from using the internet?

    Please answer these questions as well as you can.

    What can't you get back in to? Please be specific of what you used to do to get in and whether any errors are coming up or what. thank you

Just turn your modem off for 30 seconds and also you router if you have also turn your computer off for 30 seconds also.
Then after 30 second turn modem and router on then after that the computer, that should be ok now.
IF still not working call your ISP.

    If that's teh case you need to call your ISP and they will walk you through with the process in putting your correct log in for the internet..

When the computer turns on i get nothing on the monitor and the monitor says it is in power save mode. plus the light on the optiplex tower stays orange.


when yo uget power save on you monitor it is telling you it has lost connection with the computer signal. make sure it is pluged in really good to the comp and to the back of the monitor. if it is in good then your video port or card is having a problem

Modem device missing now internet doesnt work


YOU HAVE TO RE CONFIGURE THE MODEM, meaning you have to open the comp. , take out the modem and put it back again , plug the comp. , turn it on , and the comp. wizard will reconfigure it for you , let me know , AJ

try this and let me know if it works shut ur computer off for at least 10 minutes than turn it back on see if u can get a connection let me know what type of connection u have

Sounds like your power supply unit is dead. Do you get any power or hard drive lights on the unit? If not, I'm afraid it's a repair shop problem.

I have a laptop comp i just got a desk top comp i have embarq broadband internet which comp do i pit the cd into to install and which comp do i hook up the embarq box to?


It sounds as though you will need to get router to allow the sharing of the Internet between the two computers. Using a router makes it much easier to share an Internet connection between multiple computers. You would connect the Embarq box to the router on the WAN port, and then connect your computers to the LAN ports of the router. You may also want to get a wireless router in the event your laptop has a Wi-Fi connection.

Have lost my connection to the internet via my belkin wireless router


you may have accidently turned off the wifi, some note books have a switch on the side for this, others use a (blue writing) Fn + F2 or F5 key. yours may be different. check the blue icons on the F keys for one that looks like the wifi symbol.

Also check in the device manager that the wifi card is not disabled.

Try rebooting the router also.

post back your laptop make/modl for more specific advice if required.

Try remove and clean the memory fixed back and switch on the system.
if not solve.

If the VGA is add-on remove it and clean and fixed back and switch on the system.

if this all not solve notify me for further instructions.
