It would really help to know who the Manufacturer of your furnace is and the Model Number.

Hello Kyjimplumb,

I understand that your are having a problem figuring out your wire diagram for your furnace/air handler. I need to know the make and model of the unit so that I may be able to look up the wire diagram so that I can assist you with your question.

On the diagram it should show all the wires going to the blower and there color. Sometimes you have to trace the wire in the diagram in-order to figure out weather or not it is hot is a hot wire or a common wire. You should be able to trace it to the source L1 or L2 or it may just say line this is current not common.

The motor has more wires because it has more speeds to choose from then the original single speed motor that came with your unit. You will need to wire nut the extra wires of by them selves.

Post back with make and model of the unit and I will see if I am able to help you further as not all units have the same wiring or colors.

Thank you for choosing FixYa.com

I was wondering if there are different fan speeds for my tempstar joist hung furnace and where do i find these

Generally ther are at least three speeds and the wiring should be on the motor if they are varible speed. There should be a wiring diagram on a small plate or sticker on the side of the motor.Hope this helps you. Thanks

HELP!! New install of GMUH75-E3A - Main blower starts immediately on power up/ thermostat turn on. Burner never turns on/ignites. AC power is wired correctly and gas supply is connected. Switch is in the...

You need to find out if the problem is in the T-stat, T-stat wire or in the furnace you can do this in a few easy steps

Step 1- Unwire the low voltage from the furnace. Then turn the power back on and see if the blower comes on if it does then the problem is in the furnace and you will need to troubleshoot the furnace (see bottom of page for troubleshooting furnace) if it does not then proceed to step 2

Step 2- Wire the low voltage back up to the furnace (follow the wiring diagram below). And unwire the T-stat, make sure that no wires are touching each other, then turn the power back on to the furnace, if the blower starts then you have a short in the T-stat wire and you will need to pull a new wire. If it does not then proceed to step 3

Step 3- Turn the power back off at the furnace and wire the T-stat back up (follow the wiring diagram below). Turn the T-stat to auto heat 90 if the heat does not start but the blower just runs then you need to replace the T-stat.

Need wiring diagram for a carrier 383kav11048075? im replacing the icm281 control module. gas furnace

There should be a wiring diagram on the panel of the furnace. In the box of the icm 281 is step by step instructions.

Maybe this will help

Take notes on your low voltage wires from the thermostat and condenser. W Y R C G. Write down what color wires go to above terminals.

On your high voltage wiring,
Take the black wire from the transformer and put it on PR-1.
Take the white wire from the transformer and put it on PR-2
Take the black power wire from the panel interlock switch and connect it to L1
Take the white neutral power wire and connect it to L2
Take the black fan motor wire and connect it to HI
Take the red fan motor wire and connect it to LO
Take the white fan motor wire and connect it to COM
Then reconnect your low voltage terminal wires to W Y R C G.

Thats it.
