Could be one of several issues. 1. The card reader on the HP may not be SDHC (high-capacity) compatible. 2. You may need to update the drivers http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=435531 or 3. get a cheap USB multi card reader. You can probably find one for under $15.

HP Pavilion won't read SDhc cards

Unfortunately you need more than a driver. There are hardware differences between SD and SDHC cards and if a device such as a card reader wasn't designed to read SDHC cards then merely updating a driver won't do anything.
You can buy an SDHC-compatible card reader which plugs into an available USB port for as little as $8 (certainly much less than $60).

I just bought a new camera and the SD cards are 4GB. They don't seem to work in the card reader on my HP. What can I do?

The limit for SD cards for your system is 2gig, you will need to purchase an external reader, your 4gig card is a SDHC

I have a 4gb sandisk micro sdhc with adapter and the computer freezes when i have it in the sd drive.I have a hp pavilion a1 a1203w. Is there anything i can do?? Please Help

I had a similar problem not long ago. The SD and SDHC standards are different. SD only goes up to 2GB, and SDHC (high capacity) goes higher than 2GB. THe problem is that SD card readers aren't capable of reading SDHC cards, even though the card will physically fit into the card reader slot. When you insert an SDHC card into an SD card reader, the reader attempts to read the format, and locks up the OS while trying. You'll need to get an SDHC card reader and use it separately like through a USB port or something.

My HP Photosmart R707 Camera not reading memory cards

If the memory card you are using is an SDHC designated card, your camera is probably not compatible with it. SDHC cards are usually 4gb and larger. Check the card for the SDHC label.

I cannot get the pictures off of my SDHC card.

Hi,
It will read SanDisk. You should have a card reader connected to it.

Just bought 4GB SD card that hx4700 does not recognise - help pse

Your slot in the iPAQ is a SD slot, not a SDHC slot - therefore it will not read the card. Your PC card is probably a dual reader. The SD cards look the same but are different. Have a read of this...
