What make is the laptop? Can you even get into the BIOS settings? Try pressing the F1 or F2 or F12 or Del key while it boots. If yes you can retry flashing. If not we have to try different things.

It sounds like you have tried to install the incorrect bios update.

Hi i was working on my TOSHIBA SATELLITE A660-13Q and it was freezing then after i restarted the machine it gave me a message saying that ( Your computer has recover from a fatal error check for solution...

Yep. U had a software issue initially - there was nada wrong with your bios. Apparently, the bios update did not go well and now you have a piece of junk on our hands. Without a proper working bios no computer will boot up. And on a laptop the bios chip is usu.ally soldered on the motherboard so it cannot be readily removed and replaced.

Time to go shopping.

Updated compaq d530 bios now wont boot

ok. when you update the BIOS, the settings get changed to 'default' settings. What you need to do is go into your BIOS, and change a setting. It's called "SATA Operations" or something like that. It will give you two choices.... either AHCI or ATA. Whichever oen it is on, choose the opposite. Save and Exit BIOS.

retry booting to Windows. I think this is your problem, but it would be better if you could tell us what the error on the blue screen is. It probably flashes really quickly and is hard to see so I understand if you can't tell us.... but try this and let me know how it works.

Boot from CD does not work.

You should definately be given the choice to boot from cd, when you press F2 to get into the bios and go to boot options, what boot options do you have?

If you go into the bios you should have the choice to boot from ide (hard drive), cdrom, floppy disk, network (on some) and try other boot media.

Are you going into the boot option in the bios by pressing F2.

Acer travelmate 3210

Acer Travelmate 3210 is the Series
and in that series your Laptop model is 3212NWXMI

like Acer Aspire 5300 is series and 5320 is the model number like that.

there was no need to update Bios
now in case your laptop is turning on
Please try to start in the Safe mode
and there you shut down your laptop properly and try Restarting in normal mode.
Secondly, If you are well versed with the technology then please
try to reinstall the Windows Xp

and BIOS update is something you should be very careful of.
do not try unless it is MOST required

Freezing or shutoff on boot, setup or minutes into operation

Try this:

Boot the system with your Windows XP installation disk. When the boot options window appears select R for recovery console. Once you have logged into the DOS session type: fixmbr and hit the enter or return key and select "y" for yes you want to do this. Type: fixboot and hit the return key again, hit "y" for yes.
