Question about Mitsubishi WS-55511 55" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Power up I'm having a small problem with my TV... my ws-55511 was working fine then it shut off. I've tried turning it on several times to no avail. When I unplug the tv and let it sit for 3 minutes, it still will not power up. I tired holding the menu button and Device button on the set together for 5 seconds to see if a two digit error code will blink, but nothing does.... the little green light flashes a few times, but nothing on the screen. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.....

did you receive my last transmission regarding the blinking codes?

  • skipperone1 Aug 03, 2008

I don't see my last comment regarding the blinks..... I've held down the menu and device buttons and blinking that occurs is ....blink off blink off blink off... if I had to count it, it would be 1 blink off 1 blink off 1 blink off and so on.....

  • skipperone1 Aug 03, 2008

    let me try it again....

  • skipperone1 Aug 03, 2008

okay... I depress the buttons, the light comes on then goes off, comes on, goes off, comes on, goes off. Kinda lik one - two, one - two, one - two.... but it doesn't flash a bunch of times, just on and off for a total number of times (20). Then the light goes out....

The error code will be a blink code from the led it should blink a couple times vbriefly pause and then blink again. Count the blinking led in between the slight pause.

there should be a two digit blink such as 2 blinks slight pause the another series of blinks. It has to be a two digit code.

Okay a 12 code means no error detected. try unplugging one of the CRT circuit boards one at a time then try powering it up to see if one of your tubes may be shorted. Un plug it before you remove the crt board one tube at a time.

On my WS-55511 TV, after a power interruption, will not power up. All i get is a continuos blinking green light.I tried unpluging the tv several times, no luck.

Good Day,

LED does not stop blinking after plug in. Check for 12 volts at connect or PF pin 10 and 28 volts at connector PF pin 11, (on the board on the right hand side, but on the left side of board towards the back of TV). If the supplies are correct suspect a problem in the DM Assembly (part # 955C230002). Part is not available for replacement.

Check C9B01, C9B02, C9B03, C9B13, C9B14, C9B17 and C9B18 (1000 UFD, 16V, 105C) on the DM Power PCB located within the DM Assembly. If they are bad or not, replace them all with part # 181P734030 (680 UFD, 16V, 105C).

The DM (Digital Module) Assembly is located on the extreme left of the chassis from the back. It is standing in a vertical position. Remove cover and you see the Cap’s in one corner of the inside PCB.

Good Luck, Big IRISH.

Listen: you need to wait for the set to first shut off! then push on the TV(not the remote) Input and Menu both at the same time for 5 seconds and then release---the power light will then blink---this model has this feature--

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ON FOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD “device” and “menu” buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem

******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protect the Convergence IC or IC’s is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergence IC and shut down.

SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES AND THEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

IF IT IS 2 AND THEN 2---USUALLY

Green light blinks and cant turn tv on

If this is a WS-55511, it is probably caused by a DM module. Unfortunately, it is not available nor does Mitsubishi offer a rebuild option. Mitsubishi's phone# 1-800-332-2119.
Give them a call and you never know what they may offer you.
Hope this helps,

My 2002 ws55511 during a power outage turned off and will not turn back on, i have tried to diconnect tv for several hours and up to several days and plug back in, green light blinks for 30 seconds or so...

This same problem happened to my 55511 about two years ago. It appears to be a software issue. I ran the built in self test and it corrected the problem. Have you tried this?

I had a power outage and now the tv will not power on. This is for a 55" Mitsubishi WS-55511. no green blinking lights.

Hi,

You may have a blown fuse. Unplug the TV and remove the back. Look for a small fuse near where the power cord goes in.
If it is blown that may be the problem.
Use a magnifying glass to read the AMP rating.
replace the fuse and plug it in. If the fuse blows again you need expert repair services.

If the fuse doesn't blow then try to turn it on.
If it turns on then check the operation of the TV.

If the fuse blows again or the TV won't work correctly then you need expert repair service to fix your TV.

You may be able to have your household insurance pay if it is damaged by lightening or a power surge.

WS-55511

Press in together the menu button and the Device/input button on the set and hold them both in together for 5 seconds and see if the led will blink a two digit error code, then respond to this same post and let me know if it gave a error code and what the two digits were.

Will not power on. Please Help!!

Error code 12 means normal operation. On these models we have found that a switch is sticking on the control panel not allowing the set to turn on. Disconnect the control panel. You will be able to use the remote on it. To find the plugs for the control panel: Remove the speaker grill and front panel, then follow the wire to the connection. Remember to unplug the set before putting your hands inside of it. Tell me how it went. Lead Tech
