Question about Apple iPod MA446LL/A MP3 Player

Ipod not working

I have a 80GB ipod .
I had to wipeit out to the factory setings.
Now that I have done this,
when I turn it on, it tells me to connect to 'your computer'
using itunes to restore.
so i do what it tells me to do
and it is no good.
i have tried a new itunes library and
still no good. can you help me?

    Hi Cliff, are you using a Mac or PC? Also, in iTunes, when you do connect the iPod, does it ever show up?

No Prob Cliff,

Make sure that your iTunes is up to date from http://www.apple.com/ca/itunes/download/
(Apple keeps updating the Mac side often enough, I am sure there is the same for the PC). When you wiped it out the first time, it was on this computer, right, and using iTunes?

connect the ipod to pc
start itunes
when it detects the ipod in recover mode
click on restore button to restore the firmware
it will download and reinstall the firmware

if it isn't detected in recovery mode then simply click on update button when it is detected normally in itunes.

Try resetting it. Sometimes that's all it needs.

To reset iPod, iPod (scroll wheel), iPod (touch wheel), and iPod (dock connector) ipodg1-2.gif ipodg3.gif
  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Play/Pause and Menu buttons simultaneously until the Apple/iPod logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.
If you are still unable to reset your iPod, use only one finger from one hand to press the Center (Select) button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Menu button.
When you reset iPod all your music and files are saved, but some customized settings may be lost. Date and time are preserved (unless the iPod reset itself because it had no power and then was reconnected to power). Other customized settings, such as Bookmarks, On-The-Go Playlists, Shuffle, Backlight timer, and so forth are preserved from the last time the hard drive turned on.

We are getting a message that the ipod touch is disabled, and it is telling us to connect to itunes. When we connect, it tells us to enter the passcode into the ipod, which is impossible when the ipod is...


I have a very easy solution for this. But let me warn ou that this will cause a permanent loose of all kind of data stored on your ipod.

Connect your ipod touch to your pc.
Hold both home and power button until it restarts and shows connect to itunes sign.
Now your itune will ask you to restore it.
After the proccess is done you will have your ipod unlocked and back to its factory settings

80g ipod classic won't unlock or charge,and itunes won't


My 80GB Ipod classic recently froze. I took it to Apple store and the guy press the Menu and Center Button. Hold them until the APPLE logo appears twice. Then release the button.
Voila, my Ipod work again, no missing data

My 80gb ipod apple logo want turn off


It is most likely frozen I have the steps below on how to reset the ipod. This should resolve your issue completely.

The only other solution is to restore your Ipod to factory settings. Reload the songs back up. Make sure the updates are done.

Ipod 6th Generation won't connect to VM9412


All I can tell through my searching, is that the Jlink only works on gen3-gen5 ipods. I have a gen 6 80gb classic, and while I can hear the audio from the movie playing, I have no video. Music plays fine.
