I lost my rewind nob on the top of my camera over 2 years ago and have not been able to find anywhere that I can order just this part. Nothing else is wrong with the camera. Where can I find this part? Please help.

Please look on P. 23 where it says ... or better yet, here's the picture :-)

1Nikon F4S problem: R1 manual rewind will not unlock when the button is pressed

Possible causes: 1) low batteries, replace with new ones 2) bad switches - clean and retry 3) bad gears in the rewind (common problem on early model F4s. As Nikon quit selling parts over a year ago, if Nikon does not repair these any more, try one of their ASC repair stations as they may still have parts

Take about 4-5 pictures it self rewinds

Remove the bottom cover and check for sand/grit in the gears. Push both the rewind buttons (red rewind marks) and see if it resets. Otherwise it may be either a sensor (film movement) or circuit failure. There are no parts for these unless you can find them on Ebay. Minolta left the camera world years ago.

I have a Pentax Spotmatic F Camera. When I depress the rewind pin, it does not remain depressed. I must hold the pin in and rewind the film.

Tony your camera is now over 30 years old. THe fact that this is all that is wrong with it is a blessing. But why are you still shooting film? There is nothing you can do on film that can not be achieved on digital.

The nob that rewinds the film fell off my camera, and i unfortunately could not find it. Is there anyway to get the film out of the camera before I get a replacement piece?

yes, after dark find the darkest room or closet you can find, make sure no light is coming in around the door. pull up on the rewind shaft to open the back door. remove the film and rewind it into the canister by hand. turning to the right.

How do you open te Vivtar V4000?

I have used left/right as if you are holding the camera ready to take pictures.
I have included the instructions to rewind the finished film.

!/ Press and hold the film rewind button button on the right side of the camera base.
2/ Fold out the rewind crank top left of camera and turn it in the direction of the arrow.
3/ Once the pressure eases, the film is completely wound into the cassette.
4/ Lift up the film rewind knob top left of camera and pull it out to open the back cover. Now the film cassette can be taken out.
5/ Do this in a place away from direct sunlight.

Camcorder has problems

I've had mine for about 3 years and just last year it started giving me playback problems....the screen would have blue stripes across it and sound won't play. I could usually fix it by rewinding and playing again...but it's not correcting itself right now... I hope I didn't waste 60000 yen on this c_c;

there should be a small but long narrow window on the back of the camera that should tell you if theres film in ther or not. to open the camera, flip the rewinding crank (located on the top left) and pull up until the back pops open.
