Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
(this is a repeat, of course!)

It is necessary to ensure absolutely that the machine, even when empty, has all 4 feet very firmly on the floor, and I mean firmly ;-0)

Doesn't matter whether it is empty or not but switch it off then-
very firmly push one front corner diagonally into the centre of the machine and see if the machine moves or rocks AT ALL, even the slightest. If it does you will need the open-ended spanner which came with the (new) machine........which of course went missing a long time ago?!! An adjustable spanner will suffice.
Adjust the foot under that corner downwards until it is very firmly- almost pushing- against the floor but not so far that the corner lifts up!
If this corner did not rock do the same to the other.
Once you cannot rock the machine the slightest little bit, screw the locking nuts up tight to the underside of the machine so that they will not move. Ideally the rear feet should also be locked.

If this has not cured the problem it is possible that the internal suspension is malfunctioning.

Good luck,

John C

What tools do you need to change a harmonic balancer?

Depending on year/make/model. An air gun or strong electric gun works best to remove the bolt securing the balancer to the crankshaft. Some but not all models will need a puller to remove the balancer. Without stating model etc,I can offer no more advice

Balance is giving me a Err 8.2 message when it is turned on. Unit is an analytical plus model AP250D

The error 8.2 is pretty general. Most likely it is caused by damage to the load cell. There are some things you can try before you decide to get the balance repaired.
1. Turn the balance off and unplug it. Count to 20 and plug it back in anf turn it on.
If that does not work.
1. Turn the balance off and unplug it.
2. Put a 100g weight on the platform (the weight does not have to be exact).
3. Plug the balance in and wait for the count down. If the count down starts at 99 you can stop this procedure will not work. If the count down starts at 255 continue.
4.The balance will read error 8.2 again at the end of the count down.
5. Unplug the balance.
6. Remove the weight.
7. Plug the balance in and wait for the count down. The balance should count down and turn off.
8. Turn the balance on and it should work normally.
If this does not work the balance needs to be repaired.

My health o meter doctor's scales model 230 will not balance at zero

Hi. Cldchasr is talking about an electronic scale, not your beam scale. Coachphil was helpful but inaccurate for this model. I have a 230. Use Coach's method but there is no screw on the left to adjust. Instead, use the black zero balance at the upper left. Move the black slide on the silver bar until the scale balances.

This model of washer does not have an out of balance cut off switch. If the load is not balanced properly the tub could hit the cabinet sides. If the unit spins evenly while empty & out of balance while loaded, I recommend checking & balancing the load. If the basket spins out of balance while empty, I recommend having the suspension springs & balance ring checked. Be sure not to wash light fabric with heavy fabric clothes. Also ensure that the adjustable feet are level, that's most important.

Spinning is out of balance even when there are no clothes in the washer

Most has a balance ring built onto to the tub, make sure thr balance ring is not damaged, It is normal for the tub to shake in the spin cycle with nothing in washer

I have misplaced the manual for my receiver. I need to know how to balance my speakers. I can only do it at the receiver itself.

You haven't told me what make nor model of receiver you have. That would help A LOT. Anyway, most systems have a power amplifier and a pre-amplifier. Receivers have both, but they are in the same box and to the average user are in-distinguishable. The amplifier it's self (for all practical purposes) has no "balance" control. Any gain adjustments including balance, are done at the pre-amplifier level, and in the case of a receiver, that's probably the only place you will have to do any balancing. Beyond that, you may have an L-PAD or some kind of volume adjustment at the back of your speaker cabinets. If that is the case, you could do some additional balancing there, but if you're looking for symetry in your sound, there should be no need for balance adjustment. If you find that one of the channels is noticably quieter than the other, and yet your balance adjustment is set to the middle, then we need to investigate to find out why, but I don't think that is the problem that you are describing. If you already know how to set the balance at the receiver, then you probably know just about all there is to know about setting the balance on that system. Again, I am not familiar with the system, as you have not given me the make nor model.

Balance CN1401 tv tuner software

Hmmm... interesting finds for this model. Apparently built buy ECS for Walmart distribution under the name of Balance.

There is no Balance website and no information from ECS. But from what I have gathered this evening, from searching online, it should be the same as the ECS line of laptops from the same time period.

Go here - http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/SearchResult.aspx?q=tuner&f=Downloads&MenuID=104&LanID=0

Scroll down to model 332 and try the TV driver listed on the bottom of the page. Most of these models from ECS share the same LifeView TV Tuner driver.

I couldn't find any relevant specific information for Balance CN1401. Other than it being an ECS built laptop for Walmart Balance branding. So theoretically, and ECS driver should work. If that one from the 332 doesnt work, then check some of the other models listed.

Is this going to be for Windows or a Linux based operating system?
