Question about Kodak Cameras

1 Answer

- I can't use my C195 camera with Vista. I tried to download the software; a Kodak icon appeared on the C Drive but I can't download my pictures to the computer. - I try to download the Kodak software for the C195 camera on another computer which has the XP operating system, but it doesn't work either. My other camera of the Z series from Kodak is much more handy, because it has an installation disk and it's easy to download my pictures from that camera. Now. what shall I do with the C195 - Vista combination, and what shall I do with the XP - C195 combination? The download software does not come up. The camera is OK. Thanks

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. It'll also continue to work when you upgrade your computer or buy a new camera.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Hey Tiffany,
Most digital cameras will show up as an extra drive letter in Windows My Computer icon, and it might also show the name of the camera or even Kodak.
If you double click on that drive then you should see you pictures there, that would then allow you to drag and drop them from the drive to say your Windows desktop icon screen or any other folder which your' trying to place them in.
