My flame keeps going out. i can press the reset button and some times it will work for a week sometimes only 30 seconds. It is an intermittent igniter. The flame seems to "roll back" when it...

Your GMS unit should not be intermittent ignition but direct electronic ignition. In any case the flame should never roll out of the chamber. There can be a few reasons for the roll out but sometimes a good cleaning of the heat exchanger and a combustion analysis can cure that. The intermittent flame issue is probably a dirty flame sensor and can be cleaned with light sand paper or steel wool. Be careful not to touch the igniter only the flame sensor. It is usually on the opposite side of the burners from the ignition source. Hope this helps :)

My picture looks like it has a roll in it i can hit the tv a clears up for about 30 secs

It sounds like you have an intermittent connection or defective component in the vertical oscillator circuit. Not a DYI fix. Get a repair estimate from a qualified service tech before you over spend on a repair.

You can try to clean the retard pad under the feed roll, but for best results you should replace it. Parts are readily available on the web. You should spend around $20 for the pad, and $50 for the feed roll. You may not need the roll. Examine it and see how the tread looks. These parts are easy to replace.

is this a horizontal black line going up or down? if yes, this sympton is caused by a trouble in the integrated circuit or in the vertical oscillator circuit. this symptons has 2 variations. one is the intermittent rolling of the picture. this referred to as the "loose vertical hold" the other variations is the continuous upward or downward rolling of the picture
