New STR-DH810: No tone or auto calibration subwoofer sound. I've tried all manual trouble shooting recommendations. I have attached a Zenith model SH22SF-WY 8 ohms, 100W subwoofer (no sound). I also tried a Panasonic model SB-W940, 4 ohms, 320W subwoofer with 4 ohms, 100W resister in series (no sound). I have changed the attached wires twice. All other speakers and functions work well. Both subwoofers are good with their respective system. By the way, this is the second Sony STR-DH810 with the same problem. Can STR-DH810 drive a subwoofer with no internal amp sys?

The SUB WOOFER RCA (see page 11 of the user manual) jack is the audio line out level, you need to feed it to Powered SUB-WOOFER speaker.

Hope it helps.

I have a Sony DH-810 reciever and 7 speakers (8 ohm) and one sub (4 ohm). I don't get any sound from my sub?

Remove power for a while and reset the amplifer, check for any error codes. If you do not have a manual please check the following link for the nearest model. Calibrate and use test tones according to the procedure mentioned in the manual and reset.
If there is no result the sub woofer amplifier is faulty , need to check within for the power supply or there can be a failure within in the driver output.

No sound when hooking receiver to subwoofer using standard red RCA cable. Do I need a subwoofer cable?? I have turned my tuner subwoofer to YES, powered up receiver and subwoofer but nothing.

Probably not if it takes RCA input, but the receiver needs to be informed of the sub's presence and hw you want to share low frequencies among the rest of the speakers and itself. Then you need to set the relative levels using test tones, which also proves the sub works.

Sony STR-DH510 Multi-channel AV receiver connected to cambridge soundworks ensemble IV w/ passive subwoofer: no sound from center channel during viewing, or during speaker level test- all other speakers...

The STR directs sound to the center as instructed by its speaker setup. You say the center does not work on calibration. Is it defined?

Prove another speaker does or does not work on the center output. Then we'll know if it's the receiver or the speaker ensemble that has the problem.

Have you checked the manual for this "
There is no sound, or only a very low-level sound is heard from the center/ surround. "?

Cerwin Vega ve-28s subwoofer and new Cervin Vega 2-way satellites

I bought my VE-28s and it did exactly that crackled, cerwin replaced part in amp but few months later problem persisted. they then replaced entire amp assembly and its been fine. i really push it to and its been fine. to test it, unplug the connection from amp/ reciever and see if it persists. if so its the sub, if not its the amp/ reciever. dont dump it, these subs really crank and can put out some deep loud bass.
