The Kidizoom camera uses SD cards, which max out at 2GB in size. The Kidizoom Plus will take SD cards up to 2GB and SDHC cards up to 16GB. The brand won't make any significant difference. Neither will speed, so don't bother paying more for faster cards.

I got a vtech kidizoom recently. every things works till i try downloading the file. when connected to the laptop the screen on the camera shows pc connected and the usb sign. however i cant file the file...

If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos and to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Do vtech kiddizoom cameras work without the 2gb memory card?

Yes, the camera will work without a memory card. However, having a memory card will allow you (or your kid) to take a lot more pictures. It's also easier and faster to download pictures to your computer from a card than from the camera.

No guarantees but I would remove the SD memory card and GENTLY clean the exposed contacts with a standard pencil eraser and then wipe them off with a clean tissue.Alternatively, since this is a common type of memory card, you may have another device with the same card and after ensuring any files still on the card are transferred, swap the card into the Vtech and take it for a ride.Memory isn't infinitely reliable and this kind of intermittent problem can cause your lockup.

I have the older version (about 18 months old) version of the Kidizoom camera. I have just bought an SD card which is an SDHC. The camera wont recognise it or let me change the default memory store. Help!...

SD and SDHC are different types of memory card. A camera designed to soley use the older SD type cards will not be able to operate with SDHC. Newer cameras can use both SD and SDHC cards but the chances are the Kidizoom will only work with SD cards.

Hope this helps

Vtech camera is saying sd card not found, it is set to internal memory, what do I do to solve the problem.

Usually, if you format the internal memory with no card in the camera, the memory card will work.

Vtech kidizoom camera does cannot find SD card

I had similar problem. In windows i formatted the SD card as 'FAT' rather then 'FAT32' (right click on card and select format) and that made the camera recognise it!
