I have aGE Microwave JVM1842BD-001 and the turn table has stopped rotating, when I take the glass tray off I can see the plastic nob turning but real slow. Is the motor or the door causing this?

Hi.

You need to test, and in case to replace the drive motor. Here the part:MOTOR (Cooking Tray Drive Motor)

Here the description of the repair from Partselect forum(see 107 Installation ...):

"removed the 5 screws holding the vents and lights on the range hood. Dropped down the panel to the range top. Removed power connector on drive motor and checked for voltage when microwave was running. I had the required 21 vac for the motor to run. Tried to remove motor the hard way and found a screw on the back side after trying to remove the tray hub and broke it because there is tab on it. With the screew holding the removed the motor came right out and the hub did not need to removed. The new parts slipped right in."

Here all parts and diagrams for this model.

Regards.

Ginko.

Turn table will not turn

I'd check to see if the turntable motor has continuity. If it does, check to see if 120 volts is being supplied to it. If both are o.k., then the motor has probably bound-up in some way internally. There's also the possibility that it has mechanically become detached from the hub that turns the glass tray.

Turn table in microwave wont turn

Repairs are expensive. New microwaves are cheap. But you don't have to spend a dime on either. If your microwave turntable stopped spinning, here's an easy way to try and fix it. And all you need is some warm, soapy water and your own two hands. You don't have to be an appliance expert to troubleshoot a seemingly broken microwave turntable. You might find that all your little Zappy needs is a checkup and a good, thorough cleaning. If you follow these steps and find that your microwave still isn't turning, it probably means the motor has spun it's last spin. Then it's time to retire old Zappy. Unplug the microwave. Safety first, kids. Remove the glass tray and the circular turntable guide. Wash them both in warm, soapy water to get rid of anything stuck. Pay special attention to the rollers on your turntable guide, making sure they're able to spin freely. Clean the internal cavity. Make sure to check your microwave's center cavity to make sure it's free of movement-hindering (and gross) leftover food. Check that the drive bushing is working. Make sure that the drive bushing, the plastic mechanism in the bottom of the microwave's interior that the glass tray turns on, isn't worn out or split in two. If it is, you'll need to have it replaced. Put it back together. Put the turntable guide back into the circular groove. Place the glass tray turntable over the turntable guide and onto the drive bushing. Adjust until the drive bushing should fits perfectly into the grooves of the glass tray. Test it out. Zap a mug of water for a short bit to see if you fixed the problem. Do not run the microwave without anything in it.

My ge micro will not stop turning

HELLO.

If by not turning mean turntable fault, the solution is given below in detail.

1 Press "Stop" to halt microwave operation.

2 Press the "Turntable" button once to turn off rotation.

3 Push the door-release button to open the microwave oven if you do not have a "Turntable" button on your control keypad.

4 Lift and remove the glass platter from the oven, then pick up the plastic track with three wheels below the platter. Set aside these parts.

5 Insert the elevated microwave cooking tray into the oven. The tray has three to four short legs that hold it above the bottom of the microwave, keeping it from interfering with the rotating bolt in the bottom center of the oven the drives the turntable. You can now place food on the elevated tray and cook normally without disrupting the drive bolt.

Thanks.

Plastic peice that fits under plate inside micowave that makes it rotate

If the model number you have this question listed under is correct, there are two possible parts based on your question. There is the carousel ring, that turns the glass tray, and there is the small plastic coupler that the center of the glass tray is supported by. The part numbers are as follows:

Carousel ring - WB06X10513
Coupler - WB06X10564

You can view and excellent exploded view diagram of this microwave at pcappliancerepair.com. The parts I mention are listed under Diagram 1151005 as items 84 and 101 respectively.

To replace the coupler, you simply remove the glass tray and gently pry straight up. The coupler will pull off of the turn table motor shaft. Insert the new coupler and press on to the shaft.

If this is not the correct model number, please post back with your correct information so that I may be able to provide you with better assistance. I hope this helps you.

Turntable wheel under glass tray broken

If the microwave comes with a roller ring to rotate the glass turntable then I would recommend that it needs to be used when the microwave is operating, as the turntable rotates the food so it can be heated evenly.

I would recommend checking with your local Panasonic repairer he may have access to a new roller or even a second hand one to tide you over.

Kenmore microwave 721.80803401 rotating table pops up and stops turning.

I would bet the arm ("ring assembly") is either worn or warped from heat? and is not meshing well with the motor shaft or glass tray.

That is part number 4351W1A003A and you can get it for only $6.30 (compared to over sixteen via Sears) from Tritronics.

The motor is part # 6549W1S018C and if it's the culprit, you can get that for $24.84 from Tritronics, compared to almost thirty-two from Sears.

You should look again and see how loose the arm is on the shaft and which might be worn or warped or out of perpendicular. I think that one of these is the problem.

Microwave dish/tray rotates intermittently.

If the turntable is not turning, you will get hot spots and uneven heating.

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours is not set to be off via the control panel, and it won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven.

You can get Samsung parts here.
