Question about Computers & Internet
The onboard connection does not work. Bought a Rosewill NC-402 pci board. New found hardware cannot find the driver although I've downloaded it to a CD, a diskette as well as copied all files to the desktop.
Thinking that whatever hurt the onboard connection might also confuse any board added I bought a wireless usb 2.4 ghz Linksys adapter. Although the New found hardware idiot can identify the adapter it will not allow install. Says something to the effect that it does not have the proper Microsoft label.
The new hardware wizard in XP will allow unsigned drivers to be installed if you click "allow" when you feed it the driver.
It should say "Continue Anyway".
Failing this, you could try to go to the card manufacturer's website and look for a WHQL (Windows hardware quality labs) certified driver and use that instead.
As for the Rosewill, you might have to run a setup.exe to install it if the driver hasn't been provided on its own. (should be an .inf file with some dll's etc)

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
