Question about INTELLINET WIRELESS 802.11N 4-PORT GIGABIT ROUTER (766623524315)

1 Answer

Have an internal network and got a new Intellinet Gigabit router. Was using a Linksys WRT54G and had two printers connected to the network for people to print to. After installing the new Intellinet router, and getting everyone on the new 192.162.2.1 gateway (had been 192.168.1.1 with Linksys), everyone was able to print. Then on Friday, we lost our internet for about 30 minutes, and after it came back, the two network printers are no longer "findable" by the computers on the network. We are able to get on the internet, and share data across the network, but I have been working for SEVERAL hours to get the printing to work to no avail. Any ideas anyone?

It's possible that the IP addresses for the printers got reassigned when the power came back on. Try uninstalling the printers and then reinstalling them as if you had new printers. (I know it's a pain to reload the software/drivers.)

If you have Windows 7, click Start > Devices and Printers (or Printers and Faxes, with XP). Right click on each of the printers and choose Remove device. (Alternatively, left click on the printer icon and then choose Remove device from the list of actions near the top of the Window.) Then reboot the computers. Finally reinstall the printer either using the CD that came with the unit, the software from the manufacturer's site or using the Windows driver with the Add a printer wizard depending on the printer and the driver availability.

I hope this helps.

(we only have one networked printer. However, we've had to reinstall the printer once. At least a few times, we've had the DHCP setting on the router give IP address conflicts after downtime.)

Change the wireless network name and then change the key.
Try to connect to the new wireless network and see if that works.
If not then you can try to upgrade the firmware of your Linksys router.
After upgrading the firmware, reset the router and reconfigure it.

Can i connect Hp F380 all in one printer to Linksys wrt54g, and i am using macbook, help

From looking at the printer information and the router information, you will probably need additional equipment to make this work.
The printer connects to computers using a USB cable. It does not have a network connection, either wired or wireless built in.
That means you need a print server to connect your printer to the network. Some routers have a print server built in, but the WRT54G isn't one of them.
The print server will have some USB ports to connect the printer to, and connect to the router with a cable, or wirelessly.
HP shows this option: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01428401&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&site=null&key=null&product=1128296
If you can find that one, it might work the best. Many print servers have a hard time with all-in-one devices. They are usually able to print just fine, but scanning is troublesome. Make sure to review information about any print server you get, or router with built in print server to make sure it does everything you need.
Considering the price of a print server, it might be a better option to get a new printer that has built in network support. They are more likely to work easily and well. But watch carefully to make sure it can do everything you need (print, scan etc) over the network.

I currently have 2 sony computers connected to my Linksys WRT310N Router. I just bought a new Dell Laptop for my home business and I can't get it connected.

I'm assuming your new computer uses Win 7, so try opening Control Panel, Network and Sharing Center - then elect to set up a new wireless network. You should 'see' your wifi network - if not, then come back with that info & we'll take it from there...

Disable your firewall on that computer where you shared your printer.

After that check firewall settings to allow printing from the network.

Your router working ok.

Wrt54g linksys problem

are you trying to set up the router for the first time ?
OR the router was working before and you are trying to add a new windows 7 computer to the network ?

If you are trying to set up the router for the first time then you can do it manually without the CD also.

If your router is already working and you want to add the computer to the network then you just need to connect to the network

Connecting a brother hl2170 wirless printer to a linksys wrt54g

Take note all the wireless settings of the router first. Now go to the printer and Press Menu/Settings, look for wireless setup wizard. It should find the network, highlight it and connect. If it asks you for the network key, type your wireless network key. It only allows WPA-Personal(TKIP) and WEP. If you have WPA2 or AES, it will not connect

You must keep everything on the same subnet. Only allow the router to be DHCP and keep everything on 192.168.1.x subnet. You are going to have alot of problems talking across subnets

Printer connection to the Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G

You bought a router for your printer? Or you have other computers you need to connect to the internet.

If you have more than one computer than you hookup (or connect wirelessly) your computers and then network yor printer so that document can be printed from any machine on your network. If this is not what you are looking for feel free to fill me in on more infomation.
