Unlike most other high in gas grills, your Dacor requires 120 volts for everything that's electrical (i.e. ignitors, rotisserie, lights, etc) therefor, there are several connection blocks and transformers that may be causing the problem. The lights, for instance, use a low voltage 12 volt transformer. Nevertheless, before I say, that the transformer or circuit blocks and contact switches are bad, you need to trace all the wiring to make sure all the connections are intact. It won' t be an easy job, but it's one that is necessary. Having a multi-meter circuit tester will be a big benefit, as you can test where the power starts and where it ends and everything in between, .to see where the problem(s) lie.

To help you, I have included a link to Dacor's, Owners Manual page that has your model number listed. The Owners Manual has a schematic for everything electrical, which will be a benefit to you. You can download and print the manual, if you so desire.

Hope this help you solve the problem.

Disclaimer- be careful when working with gas. Starters in gas grills are just about novelty anymore. Often, they only light 1/3rd or 1/4th of the burners and they usually stop working within one grilling season. I recommend using a wand lighter. Try to light just one burner but if doesn't light in 5 to 7 seconds, turn the gas off and wait to try again. Incidentally, you are turning the gas on at the tank, right? You should hear it when you turn the burner on.

The flashlight won't turn on even though it has new batteries.

Check the bulb. Unscrew the light to inspect the contacts for the batteries and (as possible) unscrew in a place you can check the contact points for the bulb, switch and bulb. A simple cleaning with a contact cleaner, WD40, dry wool or as possible a blade (knife).

Won't light! New tank, regulator is positioned right. It's brand new! Ignitors work! Can smell propane when i turn the tank on....Can't get it to light. It's set up for propane.. Can't...

Sheldon, this happens a lot, but it's easy to solve.

1. Turn the gas tank's valve OFF & disconnect the hose from the tank.
2. Wait 5 minutes & reconnect the hose to the tank.
3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow Motion, slow).
4. Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn to HIGH.
Did the burner light and does the flame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burners
one at a time the exact same way. Do all the flame heights look correct? if so, you solved
the problem (with a little help). Just remember to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

If the above did not solve the problem, you will need to replace the grills Hose/Regulator Assembly as it is permanently locked up. You can pick one up for about $30.00 from any hardware store or home center that sells grills and accessories. Take you old one with you for comparison purposes.

I hope the helped you and Happy Grilling!! Thanks for choosing FixYa.

When I try to light my brand new Q300, it won't ignite. I can hear that the tank is on and gas is being sent to the grill. However, it doesn't light. When I shut the grill off and the gas tank...

What you have is delayed ignition. It's being caused by the gas regulator. It is solvable, though.

Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

Once the valve is fully open, light 1 burner and turn it to HIGH. Did the burner light and does th eflame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burner the identical same way. Now, to both flame heights look correct? If so, you solved the problem. Remember to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly. And always light the burners with the Lid/Hood Open.

If the above did not solve the problem, you will need to replace the Hose/Regulator Assembly. Since your grill is brand new, the Hose/Regulator Assembly will be covered under Warranty. Have your Proof of Purchase handy and call Weber 1-800-446-1071. Also, if you haven't done so already, register your grill before calling http://help.weber.com/register/ even if you don't need a new Hose/Regulator Assembly.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot & solve the problem.

How do I light the grill manually

Get a butane grill lighter. Open the hood of your grill. Remove the cooking grates and one by one turn the burner to low. Light the butane grill lighter prior to turning the burner on and as you turn the burner to low touch the flame of the lighter to the burner. Leave all burners on low, until you replace the cooking grates. Be very very careful, as you don't want gas to buildup before each burner is lit.

Then contact Brinkman for replacement ignitors.

Grill will not ignite even with manually trying

Can you hear or small gas? It's possible to may have turned the propane tank valve on too fast. Close the tank valve, disconnect it, then reconnect it. Slowly turn the tank valve back on and try lighting it again. Hopefully this is your solution, but let us know if you need more assistance. I can smell gas even though the grill is working

One of the valves is probably not closing all the way on grill. Leave griil alone with LP turned on for about 5 minutes and walk away for 5 min. and come back and see if you still smell a strong odor. If LP odor is still strong turn of for a couple of minutes and open grill hood to vent. After a couple of minutes bring a hand held bbq lighter to test burners to see if any will light with LP on and grill valves off. If any one of the burners light, that should determine which is bad and needs replaced. (Order one off Manf. website or return to store you purchased grill from.)
Otherwise if none light, replace the rubber gasline(might have a leak) and the regulator w/tank connection(might have gone bad). You can aquire a universal one at most grill stores or a Menards, or internet.
And the there's always getting the LP/propane tank and valve checked out at a filling station, to be sure there is no damage.
Good Luck, hope this helps.
