Brother DCP9045CDN - HOW TO RESET THE FUSER UNIT AFTER A NEW ONE HAS BEEN FITTED

Posted by on

  • gerri261 Mar 22, 2011

I've tried this: pressing menu, then 6, but this then lists time and date, so even by scrolling down to parts life and pressing 6 again it jumps back to Drum. I can't seem to get to the reset button for the Fuser. Any other ideas would be welcome. I've looked on the disk that was supplied with the printer but nothing is shown for this problem.

I've tried all combinations but can't get to the reset button. I've tried Menu/6 but this takes me to time and date, pressing 6 again takes me back to Drum. Is there any other way to get to the reset button?

Give this a try, press "menu", "6","6" keys. This should get you to the reset menu. Now scroll down until you find Fuser, press "ok" button then "1" to reset it.

Machine error 76

Thought I would read up here before going out. Found out it was a fuser error. Checked their fuser out, everything tested out okay but still got error 76 & 78 after doing reset. Guessed Thermistor. Returned with new thermistor (same as the 1200 series by the way) Part No. BROUL8902001. Fitted then reset using, "Power on while holding menu/set. key in 91, then key in 99 to exit" I think I had to power off but it was fine after that. Good as new!

Look on page 115 under maintenence. Follow the instructions down to where it says Belt Unit, instead, find Fuser Unit then continue with reset instructions. Hope this helps.
