the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

SOURCE: Actually it's a DPAC 13009. We need to extend the 2 air pipes 4 to 5 feet each to reach upper windows over patio doors to keep doors locked and secure. Does Danby provide air pipe extensions? Thanks.

No solution possible, given that the air ducts going up over the patio doors are quite an eyesore. This building is entirely fieldstone outside, so either the patio doors or windows above them are the only way to go in or out.

We will return the unit and get instead one that can be placed in the upper window and activated by remote control. Thanks.

SOURCE: DPAC 13009 portable air conditioning problem

Remove your remote control on the unit, follow the manual step by step. First, do the emergency on/off button, then operate the air conditioning using the remote control, follow the procedure of your manual. You may notice a clicking sound of your remote control. The yellow/green color of your emegency on/off button will turn to blue. Do not put it back your remote control on the unit because he may sense the temperature of the vent, and your air conditioning will not stay on, it will shut off every five minutes. Your problem is solve.

SOURCE: I am purchasing the DPAC 13009 Danby 2009 portable A/C, but....

Mae; I'm sorry to hear another good deal went bad. Door to door wholesale is a way to sell items that can't be sold in stores.. If you take a picture of what the hose connecta to and send it to me, I'll see what I can do. Explain the purpose of this hose andthe measurement of the connector outside diameter. The picture will say alot, I would appreciate it. e-mail the picture to co7196@yahoo.com and we'll figure out something.

Amcor 10,000BTU set at 64 degrees - - temperature of air coming out of unit is 72 degrees. In one and half hour set at 64 degrees the room temp only went from 90 degrees to 84 degrees. Recommendations?...

I am not sure, i have a similiar unit that is brand new, seems like a faulty mechanism from the maker, it starts cold for about 2-3 minutes and then shuts down condenser and blows hot air repeating this cycle. I don't believe it ias a recharge, just a faulty machine

Maybe, the compressor isn't starting? I'd take it back to where you purchased it.

Room temperature has not changed since hooking up new portable a/c

This may sound dumb but ( 1) Do you have the warm air from the unit to the exterior of the space? If the condenser is in the space your putting the heat your trying to remove right back into the space. ( 2 ) There should be an air supply and an air return in the space only. With that there should be a temperature difference of 16 to 20 degrees between the supply and return. ( 3 )A 1 ton unit usually will cool approximately 400 square feet. ( 4 ) It may take a while to pull the space temp down due to pulling the heat and moisture from the ceiling, walls, and floor. This could take 6 hours or more the first time you use the system in a space.

Cuts in and out

I suspect a bad compressor run capacitor. Take the unit to a service facility & have the capacitor & overload protector replaced. The overload will be weakened by the repeated cycling.

What is the best physical configuation exhaust/drainage to use with dehumidifier mode to avoid room temperature increase? There are 2 drainage outlets on this model top and bottom. However the user manual doesn't mention about the top one. In AC mode, if I don't connect any drain hose, the unit fills up fast and stop. When the exhaust vents are connected outside required for AC mode only, I cannot use the bottom drainage hose because I have no drain nearby. Therefore I use the top drainage and add a bucket beside the unit. This setup works fine for hours in AC mode without intercuption and the bucket fills up with water fast. However the rooms gets too cold below 20C/68F while still quite humid +60%. But if I switch to dehumidifer mode with the same setup, the unit only runs for a few minutes, then stop completely for another 5 minutes, then turn into FAN mode which blows very humid air for another while and then turns the compresssor back ON for another 5 min. and the loop start over. After hours of operation, the bucket nearly has any water and the room humidity is the same if not worst. I thought the compressor was defective so I tried the dehumidifer mode without the exhausts vents connected outside and the bottom drainage hose as suggested in the user manual. This setup works continuously but does not remove much humidity vs. the amount of heats it generates. The unit has AUTO Mode which switch between AC and dehumidifier mode. So there must be a way to keep the same physical installation exhaust and drainage for both these mode, is there? Thanks
