Huskee LT 4200 My son purchased this for me last July... the belt will not stay on ... I never got my whole yard mowed last year.. always waiting for someone to come put belt on... the warrenty people came out and, they said belt was wore out and I had to get a new one...(NEW MOWER< NEVER MOWED WHOLE YARD YET!!) so they installed a new one, and said that was all that was wrong with it... i did one mowing after that, the only full mowing of the year... Its spring and i am trying to mow again ... belt fell off twice... then broke ... only have my front yard mowed ...There has to be something wrong with this mower, what could it be? Also I need a picture and instructions on how to install the belt Thanks

SOURCE: Mower will not start

First of all have someone check the battery voltage with a meter. If it is up good do this. The + or red wire from the bat.goed to the starter. From there a smaller wire goes to the ign. switch. From there wires go to a solenoid etc. Check all the wire for cleanliness and breaks and also clean all grounds.Don't forget to have the solenoid and starter checked if all the wiring is alright. Good luck.donnyb60

SOURCE: loss of power uphill

Check the valve clearances--if they are tight, the added heat of climbing will close the clearance to the point that the valve(s) quit sealing causing loss of power. Check the spark plug(s)--should show a medium brown on the interior insulator(s). Make sure the muffler is not plugged. Check the engine ventilation--grass clippings and dirt can choke the air flow. Make sure the wheels turn freely.

I have a huskee lt 4200. I keep buying deck belts for it but it keeps eating them up. The tensioner pulley is engaging but the belt flaps around real bad. Ive replaced cable. Caint figure it out.

Clay it may be time to replace the pulleys, including the engine pulley, check all bearings and blade spindles for wear and free movement and if the tensioner is on an arm lube the arm so it move freely.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

try tapping the starter lightly with a small hammer to rule out a stuck armature. Also make sure all of your connections are tight.
Please explain how you "jumped" it. was it with another battery?

Set the brake/clutch. This will disengage the linkage that tensions the main drive belt, allowing you to put it on the pulley.

I hope this is helpful.

Husqvarna yth20k46 - When turning transmission does not work

I only had my mower 3 months and that problem started. I was told to change the drive belt, It got worse. Now the transmission will only drive the mower for about 15 min and will come to a complete stop. I have to let it sit about 30 min before the drive will work again. No solution yet but I'm looking at replacing the "sealed" drive assy. I do have a very healthy yard of St Augustine which is tough. I can mow a thinner yard a little longer.n
