I have a Toro two stage snow thrower that has an auger issue..left just spins as it want the right moves do I fix...the machine is 13 years old can't find any please.

The shaft has shier pins that break when an object gets caught in the auger. This prevents further damage. You will need to replace that pin. Make sure you stop the blower, unplug the spark plug before working on it. The pin holds the auger to the shaft. Turn the auger until you see the hole through the shaft and insert a new shier pin.

How can I remove the auger assembly to remove the augers so I can drill out remaining piece of shear pin?

You could take off the side panels of the Auger Housing and that should allow you to slide the auger off the shaft.
If you rotate the auger to see in the Sheer pin hole, can you see the remaining part in there? Sometimes the Pin will sheer AND the auger will rotate on the shaft a little bit which prevents you from getting a new pin to pass all the way thru both the auger and shaft. Make sure this did not happen in your case. I'm surprised you cannot get a Drift and knock the remaining piece of pin all the way thru. Again, make sure you issue is that the pin is stuck and not that the auger shifted a bit

Mtd yardmachine snow blower 305 cc auger wont turn

This is a fairly frequent problem that is easily fixed. What happened was the snowblower's auger was either overloaded or got jammed (ice, debris - something other than snow). Rather than twist, damage or break the auger itself, an inexpensive part called a "shear pin" is designed to fail. A shear pin employed between the auger sleeve and drive shaft that is inside the sleeve. You may have broken one if one side of the auger spins) or both (if both sides of the auger spins). Purchase several replacements for your particular machine to have on hand. Do NOT replace s shear pin (or shear bolt) with a regular bolt under any circumstances! Check the video linked below on how to replace the shear pins. Good luck!

Snow blower auger stops in snow

There are cotter pins on the second stage blower shaft. I would inspect these. Also, check sheer pins in front auger assembly.

Ariens st350 snow blower wont blow snow, augers wont spin

there is a bolt that goes thru auger and spinning shaft (look for a hole where it once was) holds the augers to the spinning shafts, it is called a shear pin, it is a safety feature, and made of softer metal, so if you pick up something too hard with the auger, it wont lock up the engine, or break engine crank shaft.find an ariens repair shop to purchase the shear pin so you get the right softness of metal.

Electric snowblower. Paddle stops when it hits snow. Is there a pin that may have snapped from overload? Belts are good and tension spring seems ok. Thanks!

Yes there are, usually what is called a sheer pin. They are designed to break before anything else is broken. They are found on the auger shaft. You probably can't see them because they are broken and have fallen out. Inspect the auger shaft where you should find holes where they go. Go to a shop or where they sell parts and get the proper sheer pins. If you can't find any, ordinary bolts will work just as well. Install them in the holes you have found on the shaft (I hope). If the bolts are still there on the auger shaft, then there in something else wrong obviously. You say everything looks ok, so that is surely the problem. I hope this helps you even just a bit. Best regards and good luck.

Yard Machine 5.2 HP snow blower Auger is not rotating not throughing / cutting snow.

Hi, The only thing I can think of is that your sheer pins are broken. Can you turn the auger by hand? If you can, look at the shaft that the auger is welded to, If you can look for bolts or holes on the auger center shaft, You will have to punch out anything that is left there. If that's the problem measure the diameter and length of the old bolts, or go to a shop that sells parts to get new sheer pins. You can also use ordinary bolts that will work well. Have you checked your belt to see if it is broken or has come off the pulley or if the belt tensionner is still on the belt or has come off not providing the right amount of tension so the belt does not slip in the pulleys and is able to turn the auger. Regards and good luck. I hope that is the problem and can be fixed easily and is cheap to do.

I have Toro 826LE model 38620 S/N 250010001 & up snow thrower; one side agur will not turn under power and free wheels by hand. The problem occured this morning, there was no indication of a problem...

It sounds like you have sheared a roll pin. Look at the auger that is not turning, on one end you will see a hole, there is a steel pin that goes through the shaft, I am pretty sure that pin has sheared and allows the auger to spin freely on the shaft. You may have to find a small punch and drive out the broken piece before inserting new one. Seeing how the auger has been spinning on the shaft you're gonna have to line up the hole in the auger with the hole in the shaft. Look at the good side to see alignment. Hope this helps ya.

One side of the auger doesnt turn

I'm assuming that you are speaking of a snow blower auger. It most likely has sheared a cotter pin or bolt that couples the auger to it's shaft. Turn the auger slowly looking for a small hole somewhere along the shaft. When found, hold the auger and turn the impeller by hand until the inside shaft lines up it's hole (there may be a sheared piece of metal in the shaft hole). Use a pin punch to drive out any remaining shear pin and fit a recommended new pin or bolt. Hope this helps!
