Try going to ASUS's website and downloading a new BIOS. Could be an issue caused by several things, but I'd flash the BIOS first.

Where is the reset button on the Asus Eee pc 1001px netbook?

There is no reset button. There is a Power Button that turns the netbook on or off. Exactly what is it that you are trying to do?

If you are talking about System Recovery where it sets your system back to when you first purchased it you can read the owner manual to see how to start it. System Recovery will delete everything you've done (all your documents, music, pictures, videos, programs) since you had the computer.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "ASUS Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look on the site for Manuals and search them for System Recovery or Restore to Factory Settings.

Have you thought about trying to do a System Restore? System Restore allows you to select a Restore Point (date and time) before your system started having problems. It does not delete your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs (unless the program was installed after the restore point you selected). Click Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore to initiate the process. If you have Windows 7 click Start then in the search box type System Restore and look up and click it in the returned results.

Cannot open any programs, keeps asking "chose

Hi,

Good day. Your correct my friend. Usually if a program that is usually used in a computer then suddenly uninstall, all files that uses that program will show that message your getting because your computer cannot open them . What you need to do is to install the program or software again. For example, if your downloading a file in pdf you need to download adobe reader or if you are download a video file you need to download and install the player like mediaplayer, divx. You just need to make sure what type of file your downloading and you can select the option to check the internet for softwares that can run this file. Hope this information help you a bit. Have a great day

ASUS U50F webcam not working for months. I have looked through tons of forums, I've tried contacting the *nonexistent* support on ASUS' website and they never even helped me. I got this notebook...

Most likely you have another chat program using the camera. Right click on the icons in the systray next to the clock and exit programs. After exiting each program, try the camera again. The last program you exit before the camera is the one causing the problem. Restart the computer and right click on that program and try and set it to not start when the Windows starts.

My ASUS Essentio has a weird problem. Everything starts to freeze up and things stop responding. I think I have an overheating problem, but I'm not sure. What should I do?

Memory issue? Too many programs at start up. You can shut down what you don't want by Ctrl+alt+delete! that starts the task manager. Close all the unnecessary programs.

Recent trouble with downloads

I suggest you use System Restore, to remove Trend PCillin. (any files and folders will not be affected by this procedure).

Run system restore as follows:

Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, select System Restore. Choose a restore point on a date before you installed the problem program. The procedure should take about 15 minutes.
