There are usually only three components to a defrost system. ( dfrst term switch, heating element, and timer) If you have replaced the term switch, and have continuity on element, then that leaves the timer. Some timers are adaptive boards, some are a clock like mechanism. With a model # I could look up and see which you have. Please post model num. (example 106.5576346) must have the 3 numbers before the decimal.

Frig & freezer not cooling enough. Ice forming in back of bottom freezer.

You need to have the defrost cycle checked.( heater, limit stat, timer) If the frig can't defrost air can't move across your coils to cool properly. To temporarily get by until you can get a repairman, use a blow dryer to melt the ice build up. Once melted it will work normally for about 2 days till it freezes up again.

Machine keeps dispensing ice won't turn offthe wire lever to control the icemaking is not working whirlpool frig top freezer

The wire is connected to a switch that turns your icemaker on and off. It could be that the wire lever came loose from the switch arm, but more likely the switch itself is defective. See if the mechanism connecting the wire arm to the switch is loose and if it can be tightened. If not, replace the switch.

I have a GE Profile fridge, top freezer. Ice buildup keeps blocking thew evaporator fan. I've defrosted 2x, checked evap drain for blockage. But ice buildup reoccurs after 2-3 days. Turning up the

You have a defrost problem. Locate your defrost timer while the unit is iced up and turn it until you hear a defined click. At this point open the freezer and listen for ice cracking. If Ice starts cracking then it's your defrost timer bad. If ice doesn't crack, then you have a defrost component bad ( heater and Bi-Metal) Ohm out your heating element and replace if there is no continuity. You can usually find defrost timer either under the front of the box, in the fridge around the light or thermostat or sometimes in the back at the bottom. The dial on the timer can only be turned one way with a large flat head. You will hear the difference in the way the clicks sound for the defined click. Good luck.

Temp on upper is getting colder while freezer on bottom is getting warmer

Sounds like bad settings. Sometimes, the temp setting(sensed in ref area) controls runtime, and the frz setting adjusts a vent whuch passes air from frz to ref area. try raising frz setting.

Maytag side by side fridge freezer leaking water

Your drain plug within the evap area of the freezer is frozen, turn frig off, let sit for day or two with doors open. Once all ice has melted then take rear freezer evap cover off and pour water into try and make sure it drains, if not then unplug drain. This is usually caused by a defrost heater bad or unit not going into defrost when it's supposed to, may be main board.

Kenmore frig ice machine doesn't make cube ice

Normally, the ice "cubes" are crescent shaped. The most likely cause for "crushed" ice is that the ice maker isn't getting enough water on its refill cycle after ejecting the tray. Becuase there isn't enough water, the ice looks crushed...it's actually shattered.

Check the water inlet and chute to the ice maker. Sometimes they freeze and have to be manually defrosted. A hair dryer will do the trick. Also check the water chute and be sure it isn't partially frozen.

Start there...if no luck you could also have a failing water filter or sticky water solenoid valve.

Amana bottom freezer

Hello ghilitho, what you are having is an issue with the defrost cycle. There are 3 parts to this, heater, thermosat, and timer. Sometimes on the newer units the timer is the electronic control. What you are seeing is after you defrost the unit, it works for a time, this is because the evap fan pushes the air thru the unit. With the evap coil froze solid, the cooling drops. You will need a ohm meter to check the heater and thermosat, the heater & thermosat should show to be closed. Also make sure if this unit has a over heat thermosat that it is closed. It may have open up. If all this is good, then the timer is the issue. Hope this helps
