Question about DSC Rf5108-433 Powerseries Wireless Receiver 433mhz Rf

2 Answers

My ADT Power Series 433MHz security system control panel is beeping every ten seconds and the trouble light is on. I discontinued service with ADT a while back and sometime afterwords this problem arose. How do I stop the beeping without disconnecting the box from the power source? I do intend to have this unit monitored by a new service shortly. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

My PowerSeries 433mhz security system control panel has it trouble light on and every few hours begins to beep every few seconds until we activate then deactivate the alarm. There is no indication of a low battery on the LCD and as far as I can tell the unit has no battery. I have it off the wall exposing the motherboard with the following number; RBYGP12/P2. My next solution is to disconnect the wires from the wall to the device but I am hoping you can save me that step. I have no monitoring service right now but I am going to get a new third party monitor perhaps by radio. Can you please help me get this beeping stopped and the trouble light off?

Thanks. Do you know how I can locate the installer code?

Thanks very much. I'll just disconnect it until we get a new provider.

The beeping signals the loss of connection between the main unit and monitoring station - at a regular interval the unit tries to report its status to the monitoring center; when that fails it triggers the error light and the beeping.
Since you have canceled the previous account you will have to reprogram the unit to work as a stand-alone unit so you will need the Installer Code to make the required programming changes - assuming that the previous company hasn't locked the board. If it has then a full reprogram or even a complete replacement of the central unit might be necessary. In either case this is a job for a certified service man, all you can do is to unplug it till one comes to your house.

Only the ones that have installed it know it - it's a 4 digit number that is specific to the company that installed it. Contact them.

"Power Series 433" is just a label indicating that the system has wireless devices. What is the actual system model (look on the label inside the door of the box with the battery and motherboard"

If you have the installer code, you can turn off the dialer or just the autotest (the fact that the autotest is failing tells me that you likely don't have alarm communication at all).

It's a PC 1565.

If you are no longer being monitored, and/or no longer have land line phones then you can kill the dialer completely:

*8 + [Installer code]
380
press 1 to turn off option 1. This disables the dialer
#
015
press 7 to turn off the phone line voltage monitor.
# until you exit programming.

If you just want to turn off the auto-test

*8 + [Installer code]
371 9999
# until you exit programming.

If the heat detector is a "rate of rise" and not a fixed temp (most wireless are ROR), you can test it with a 1500w hair dryer, just keep it a foot or so away and don't blast it into one spot too long.

Companies like DSC, Honeywell, GE, etc. that make these systems, provide support for professional installers, _not_ to end-users. Just as the system instructions are written for technicians, and not lay persons.

Yes, it stinks, but thats the way it works (right now).

It really has a lot to do with liability.

I have a adt simon 2 alarm system which is no longer monitored by adt. I accidently pressed the phone test button twice and now it continually beeps. How can i cancel the phone test, I've tried...

Get the front cover open by pushing the tab at the top of the panel down while pulling on it. When the cover is down enter the 4 digit master code using the red numbered keys. On the left you will fine a small menu that list different "options". You want to turn "option 1 off." To turn off option 1: Hit the delete key then the option button one time for option one finally push the bigger button in the left bottom corner. I think it's labeled enter or something to that effect. You can listen to the prompting of the panel to know exactly which one to push. After that close the front flap and no more beeping will happen. You will still get the siren in the event of an alarm but trouble conditions and entry exit beeps will be no more. I hope that helps!

Alarm beeps every 5 mins. I have changed battery and problem still persists.

Tell me what brand your alarm is and I can help you with the beeping. Usually if you hit # it will silence the beeping for 24 hours. Something you can try is finding your main control box. Its usually located in the garage or in a closet. It is tan and 6 x6. First disconnect the battery inside the control box by jiggling off the black/red leeds. Then unplug the power supply. Wait five minutes. Reconnect the battery and plug in the control box. This is completely powering your system down and then repowering it up-essentially "re booting." If this does not correct the issue, give me the brand and I can further help you.

Have ADT 3000 series alarm system - would like to set it to max

adt sw3000 panel does not support max button on key pad. best solution would be to have ADT tech reprogram Zones so windows are perimeter zones(instant when armed away or stay) and motions interior follower (instant when no perimeter zone was triggered first). doors stay exit/entry.

We just moved into a house and it has an alarm system that has westinghouse on it. There are sensors on every door and window down stairs. We have no idea how to turn it on and get it set up.

Call an alarm company like ADT. If they can use it they will. it will require some minor reprogramming and they will check all sensors, if the use it. 1-800-ADT-ASAP.

ADT has there systems custom made for them. so they may have dumbed down the system so they dont have to spend there time helping with problems.

most system usr the ring hang ring method.

you dial the the number that your system is connected to let ring 1 to 2 timen hang up wait 20 seconds call back the panel should answer then follow your instructions. most panel will have you press somthing like *** them the panel will tell you to enter your access code. then the panel will walk you thru the rest.
