Question about Fujitsu ScanSnap Manager

Open Question

When I put in the installation disk it gives me the following message: "You do not have a write authority for the installation folder. Make the selected folder writable." This is the second Fujitsu S1500 scanner I have tried. I got the same message the first time I tried ti install the scanner so tech support had me return the first scanner saying the software must be defective and sent me a new one. However, this one is giving me the same message. Please help. I have important documents I must scan immediately. Thanks.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: problem installing Scansnap S510

This is probably due to the program using the same folder for the new version of the program. Best solution would be to uninstall the new version, uninstall the old version and then reinstall the newset version only.
Running a registry cleaner in between does not harm.

One other thing to try is an uninstall program, but I am not sure that will help.

SOURCE: PFUSSMON HAS STOPPED WORKING ON MY SCANSNAP S1500

Find your specific scansnap product and update it:

http://www.fujitsu.com/us/services/computing/peripherals/scanners/support/downloads.html

A user had a similar issue and I found this update for the scansnap S1500 manager:

http://www.fujitsu.com/global/support/computing/peripheral/scanners/drivers/s1500.html

This occurs with certain Intel dual core processors, so you might be effected accordingly.

SOURCE: Just bought (ex USA) new

Mechanical noises = mechanical failure. You will have to dismantle the scanner and inspect the pickup mechanism - the parts that move the paper sheets are defective: the movement of the motor isn't transmitted to the gripping pads, probably a gear is out of position or a linking pin has been sheared off.
If you can't fix them yourself then the unit is pretty much dead : these replacement parts aren't available anywhere, not even the repair shop of a dealer - the parts and the labor to install them would cost more than a new scanner.
But you could search for another defective scanner on which the pickup mechanism is in good working order then buy it and cannibalise it for those parts. Or you can search at repair shops for same.

Installing of Office 2010 Professional stopped due to an error 1303, which says "Set up cannot access the folder C:\ProgramFile (x86)\CommonFiles\MicrosoftShared\MSClientDataMgr

Hmm i think this one you may have to follow that path as far as you can go and copy that folder in the "MicrosoftShared" folder. Ive ran into this problem before. The MSClientDataMgr folder should be in the install disk somewhere...just gotta look for it.

New portable Win7 won't make recovery disk

Okay....take a deep breath, we'll do this step by step.

1. Go to the following link: http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=driverfile&dno=9927&i=0

2. Select where you want to download the file from. It's best to pick the one that reflects your location.

3. Once the file has been downloaded, extract the folder to someplace you can find it again, e.g. Desktop or MyDocuments or something like that.

4. Run the file called "setup.exe" (without quotes)

5. Follow the directions of the installer

6. Taadaa! All done, you can relax again.

Good luck and don't hesitate to message me if you have any questions/need help.

Windows XP SP2 Repair

Solution: Rename the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CATROOT2 folder to something such as catold to prevent WinXP's Setup program from locating the folder and halting the installation. If you are still in Setup, press SHIFT-F10 to launch a command prompt from within Setup. At the command prompt, type cd\win dows\System32 to open the System32 folder and then type rename CATROOT2 catold, press ENTER, restart the computer, and attempt the upgrade again.

If you cannot reach a command prompt from Setup, reboot the computer from a Win95, Win98, or WinMe startup disk and rename the folder from the command prompt. You can also launch a command prompt by booting from the WinXP installation CD and running the Recovery Console.

Disk is Locked Error

If the My Music folder is in the wrong location or incorrectly assigned in the Windows registry, you may see one of the following error messages:
  • "The folder iTunes is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder."
  • "The folder iTunes cannot be found or created and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the Music folder."

If you see one of the above errors, follow these steps to troubleshoot this:
  1. Verify the location of your Windows XP My Music folder. The default location for this folder is
    C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music
If you do not have this folder at the default location and have not moved it to another location, consider creating one inside your My Documents folder.
  2. Download and install Tweak UI from the Microsoft PowerToys website at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx Note: This utility is for Windows XP only. Please review the system requirements before installing.
  3. Once you have installed Tweak UI, open it from the Start menu.
  4. In the column on the left, click on the plus symbol (+) next to My Computer and select Special Folders. ht1866_01.jpg
  5. In the right pane on the Folderlist, click My Music.
  6. Click the Change Location button. You may see a warning message appear with precautions for changing this setting; after reviewing the message, click Yes. ht1866_02.jpg
  7. In the resulting window, browse for the My Music folder as described in step 1, and click OK. ht1866_03.jpg
  8. Reinstall or open iTunes.
