Question about Amana SXD524VW Side by Side Refrigerator

Hello i am after a user manual for an Amana SBDE 520 side by side fridge freezer as i have no idea what the screen on the front is telling me or what the buttons do! your help would be much appreciated as someone has played with the settings an now my freezer is defrosting from not being able to set it to cold

Freezer & refrigerator are not cooling enough.


there is a couple of things you can try. you can try to defrost the whole unit. it is not always a good idea to turn it up to the max setting. if the inner coils get frozen up it causes the problem you are having.

its quite possible, that "the box with thermostat and small door fix on chanel for regulating cold air from freezer in fridge side", is not the problem, there can be a few diff problems, the fan in the freezer may n ot be blowing the air over, you may have a bad defrost thermostat, preventing proper defrost cycles and building up with ice preventing proper air flow. i would look into a little more before condemning the part your lookin at( damper control)

you may try hard restart by shuting the fridge off and unplugging it from the wall . plug in back in and after 5 min turn it back on . close both doors and wait one hour . check the temp. if the unit still will not respond calll the local woranty amana repairman only. hope this helps you
