Question about Motorola Mobility L6 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

My wife has an old Motorola L6. The text message inbox was full. It is now completely empty after removing the battery and SIM card temporarily. I assumed the messages were in the phone's memory - is they are is there any way of accessing them?

Thanks. Not sure how to check the SIM inbox but on the SIM card at the moment are 249 names and numbers. Is there any way of recovering deleted messages?

  • WGIW7780 Mar 21, 2011

Just checked the phone - within the Inbox Setup menu is a Text Message setup option. This is set to save text messages to the phone itself. The other option is to save them to the SIM card. So the text messages should be on the phone somewhere - is there any software which would enable me to access the phone's memory and find them?

The messages were in your sim inbox and not in your phone memory.Check your sim inbox for the messages.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Emptying the inbox is not all you may need to empty. Sent items, Deleted items, past calander events are all talking up space, might clean those out

My motorola keeps saying the text inbox is full and wont accept incomming text messages

If the text inbox is full, just go into it, & delete the old messages that you don't need to save. The phone will only save so many bits of information, before it is full, & will stop saving messages.

Text messages gone

When you take your battery out of your phone it automatically erases call log/sms etc unless you have saved them in a save folder.

How to erase old text messages

Go to Menu--message--inbox--open up the message which u want to delete n then press the option button---u will see Erase/Delete as an option then click OK.Again press OK if asks for confirmation. That's how u empty your inbox. If u want to delete all the inbox messages then for that also you have an option in the inbox. Just don't forget to press the "Option" button if u have to see the function.

Cannot send text messages from my unlocked KRZR k1

2 ways:you need to either clean your message inbox and/or outbox.
another way, you need to buy a new sim card because your old sim card is a little broken.

Full memory Problems!

Hey Travis,

Text Messages are stored onto your SIM card and not your phone. You would have to clean out your mail box (clean out old messages in your inbox, sent messages and outbox).

Hope this helps,

Text messages - how to delete?

I have seen this problem alot. I will give you two different solutions, the second worked best for me. The first is to remove your SIM card and leave it out for a few seconds then put it back in. From what I know, phones with SIM cards save the messages to the sim card and the other saves them to the phone. The second which works good for me, it a product called Motorola phone tools, it comes with the software, data cable, if you have a computer this will cost you a few dollars, but check around I bought mine for $30.00.

Motorola V3 problem

try holding down the power
remove the back cover and battery
(at this point briefly let up on the power)
remove the sim card
wait for "insert sim card" message
remove battery
reinsert sim card and battery
release power key when the splash screen comes up

if this dose not work you may need to reflash your phone
