I've installed Cossacks(the Art of War) in Windows 7 Professional.HP-Pavilion Slimline s5710F. The game come up with double vision still can't play everythink runs together.

i would suggest you to do a software update.
it may also be because of the service provider

set windows resolution to 1024x768 by right clicking on your desktop and selecting properties
Set ingame resolution to 1280x600 in setup

You need to change your screen resolution to 1048X760 to work. And also if possible change your vga/hdmi card to more memory at least 64mb card. Then remove any video sharing on your bios. Hope this help.

There is no other work-around for this, because Starforce contains a driver that Vista will not accept because it is built for another operating system. Starforce protected games are well known to be one of very few XP titles that will not work on Vista without an update or patch, due to its design.

Did you check under c:/program files? In the Art of war 2 folder there should be a Art of war 2 application file (should be a small file under 1mb) double click that and if it works copy and place on desktop. Also check in your start menu games folder. Note if you have a Program files (x86) folder it will be there. Good luck

Well, try this, we call this "compatibility" mode, most programs can be run on windows 7 with this trick.
I assume your Cossacks II Napoleonic Wars icon is on the Desktop,
Right-click the Icon (game's icon), select "Properties" and click "Compatibility" tab, select "Run this program in compatibility mode for" click the "Windows 95..." and select "Windows Xp (Service pack 2)", click "Apply" > "Ok" and try again.

If even after doing this, the game can't be played, then there's no option. The fact is that, this game is made to run on system with Windows xp and earlier version, but somehow if fortunate, it's possible, not will all software, some may work, some may not.
