Question about GameCube Games

1 Answer

Not connecting I purchased this controller at a second hand shop. The unit looks brand new, but I can not get it to work with the dongle (unit that plugs into the x-box). The x-box reconizes the dongle and the little red light lites up, but the controller won't connect. I put new batteries in the controller, and the light lites up when you push the buttons. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong, or do I have a bad controller. I have a wireless controller for GameCube. It is of the Pelican variety, and it works fine. Unfortunately, when you plug in ANOTHER wireless controller of the same brand, one controller controls BOTH. I cannot find any parts of the controller nor reciever that enables you to change the channel... What do I do?

There should be a switch on the Pelican wireless controller that enables you to change the channel on the controller and or receiver. Look in its manual, it should say such. If not... Then it's because it is a very poorly-done job done by the company. Replace that controller with a WaveBird (older wireless controller for the gamecube, but a lot better)

I have a super smash brothers melee disk with alot of scratches on it. i am wondering how to fix it

The best way to fix any scratched disc is to have it resurfaced. Most second-hand game stores and movie rental stores will provide this service for a small fee (usually $1 or $2 per disc), and the disc will come out looking and working like new!

The only exception to this is Dreamcast games (these can be damaged by resurfacing) and CDs with top side damage. GameCube games are DVDs, so there should be no problem at all when you resurface them.

Holy C! I had the same problem and even bought a new system cause I thought it was broken! Turns out that the games are defective and there is no way to fix them. Now you can pick up copies of this game at your local Dollar Store! (NO JOKE!)

My wii keeps ejecting my game cube games, even tho they are scratch free. I put the game in and the disc icon doesn't even spin as if the game is not there then after 3 seconds of putting the game in...

I had this same problem, its just a issue with the disk driver hand (Its the hand that pulls GC disk and Wii disk into the disk holder) to fix pick up the wii, tilt it upright (to where the back of the wii (where the USB ports are)) is facing the ground and the disk slot is facing the ceiling. Simply put the disk in the console and gravity should do the rest. Also the disk will eject really easily so don't worry about the disk getting stuck inside of the console.

The game doesn't work. i got a new copy and it still doesn't work

First you should clean the lens in the Gamecube. Do this with a soft white washcloth and water (there is also a lens cleaning solution but try plain water first). Afterwards clean out the disc bay with a q-tip daubed in water just to get contaminants out of the disc area. If it still doesn't work you may need to replace your lens. I've posted a link to a site where you can purchase one if you need to, if you choose that route just remember you'll need the little security bit to open up the Cube. Hope this helps

I dropped my gamecube and now my controllers arent working

Odd that would happen. Must have been a really hard crash on the ground.
Usually the Gamecube can handle more of a beating.
Though I'd expect the disc drive to go out for the controllers would.

All I can think of is that the controller ports where knocked out somehow. Perhaps even just the cord that connects the ports to the rest of the system was knocked loose.

The only solution I can give is to open the Gamecube and see if you or someone can reinsert the wires or resolder them.

I don't think it could be anything worse than something being forced out of place like that.

Could also be a severed wire if a piece bashed into it somehow. Though desoldering the old wire(s) and soldering a new one is sometimes easy enough.

If all else fails you can also find a replacement part.
These can be a little pricey depending on the site and hard to find so make sure search around a good lot.

Oh and as for opening the console itself, well, it requires semi-special tools.
Some security screw screw driver sets have the right shape needed or one close enough.
You can also find screw drivers sold as "gamecube repair screw driver" at times as well and can be rather cheap to buy.
They seem impossible to get but they are out there and ya never know when you just happen to have one that'll work.

I hope this helps out some.
Good luck with the repairs.

The Sims Downloading Problem.

Actually you need to have bought the original "The Sims" game, this being because the game's code looks for a registration to determine whether or not you bought it... Of course you can illegally get the real game, but that is highly unappreciated. Find a "The Sims" game in an exchange shop or on eBay for really cheap, and that should be the start point you're actually looking for.
