Yes, this is normal. There is a heater that runs around the outside to keep it from sweating. Some models have a switch on the inside of the fresh food section so that you can turn off the heater.

Is there ice build-up in the back of the freezer? If so take the panel off the back of the freezer section inside the freezer and replace the heating element.

MAYTAG MZD2766GE makes a loud buzzing noise coming from the top of the refrigerator side I think it is when the defrost cycle begins

OK I'm going to ask you some questions about your ice maker. No Problems? You said you noticed this sound around defrost time and have you ever had problems with defrost on this refrigerator before? The way it sounds from here is something related. So I will list them in order of most likely. That would be the adaptive defrost control part number Click Here=> 61005988 then the other two less likely are the defrost heater part number Click Here=> 61006199 When the ADC begins to go bad strange things may happen, The compressor and fans are surposed to shut off and then the defrost heater comes on. Afte defrost begins to reach 50 degrees inside back wall of freezer the defrost thermostat opens to keep the defrost heater from remaining on and defrosting the complete freezer. This for me is a guess and go situation because I am not there to see and hear what you do. So to insure we both are well informed I will leave you with a Service Manual Click Here=> MZD2766GE Your manual covers several models and on page 42 shows a defrost timer and that would be less likely to create strange sounds. If need you may contact me here on Fixya or my Forum=> Appliance 911 My contact information is located above the Fixya Ad on my blog here=> Sea Breeze Appliance Parts and Technical Services, www.pcappliancerepair.com

My referigerator is running coolabout 45 degrees.freezer/wmer sometimes. thefreezer is not gttig real cold. hope you can give a idea of what may be wrong

You may have a sealing issue with the freezer door. If the rubber gasket around the edge of the freezer door is not sealing properly it will cause the freezer to be warmer. You may not easily notice the seal problem so check it all around the four edges of the freezer. hope this helps :)

No water coming from dispenser on Maytag MZD2766GE

You should defrost the freezer. The water line coming into the freezer is frozen and the water can't get through the little tubing.

Maytag

on some Maytags if the defrost thermostat in the freezer gets above its setting (around 50 degrees) the fans won't run. It shouldn't be like that very long...10 minutes tops then they'll come on all by themselves.
