You were very fortunate! Your quick thinking and the very clever action plan that you put into play saved your Samsung from complete failure! My hat is off to you!
The bad news is that your flash is probably gone for good. Count your blessings and enjoy your phone with the knowledge that you were able to save it. I would advise against going back and trying the flash again and again because this is the part of your phone that requires the most current, and whatever component failed could under demand cause a "cascade failure" and kill the phone for good, wiping out your most excellent save.
