Question about Garmin (010-00583-00) for nuvi 750/760/770
Have a new Garmin 750. bought an oem car charger for it but the end that plugs in to unit is too large for unit and has to plug in the base with other end pluged in the cig. lighter. Garmin won't charge like this. Is is suppose to charge when the cord is pluged into the base that attaches to car window?
There are thee ways to charge the Garmin 750, 1: thru a car cord that plugs into the base that your unit mounts on. 2. Thru an AC charger. 3: thru the USB port on the Garmin unit itself. In your case the car cord plugs into the base that mounts your unit to the window. If that is not working, check that you are getting power from your car receptical. Check by plugging your Phone in or buying an adapter at Radio Shack that checks it. Also check the plug that goes into your car recepticle. Your manual tells how to check the fuse that is located in the end of the plug. If neither of these work your mount connection is bad. Hope this helps
