Generally, projectors don't have speaker inputs.

If you want to avoid an A/V receiver, connect the PC speakers directly to the DVD player.

Connecting a computer to the projector
Connect the projector to a computer using a VGA cable (included with the projector). In addition, you can connect an audio cable from the computer to the projector if you with to use the internal speaker of the projector. An optional USB cable connection is also available.
1 - VGA cable connection
2 - Optional audio cable connection
3 - Optional USB cable connection

How do i get sound from my acer x1230 projector?

The acer x1230 projector has an audio mini-port on the back.

In order to utilize the speaker in the projector you will need to run a cable with a mini plug (same as your standard headphones) from your source to the projector.

On a side note, I would suggest using something else for your sound. Data projector speakers are akin to the internal speakers on a computer. The sound quality is not the best and the speakers on data projectors tend to not stand the test of time.

Your basic desktop computer speakers will give you better quality sound and they will most likely be louder as well. In addition, they use the same kind of port (mini) that you would use for the projector input.

Need to somehow hook up speakers to hd65 optoma, since it comes with no speakers. This would just be a business presentation so a good speaker component is fine but it doesn't have to be home theatre...

HI there the normal way to sort this problem in most installations is to run active speakers straight from the sound card on the pc /laptop that is running your presentation and nothing to do with the projector

skytec make a good range of quality active speaker available on the net

Sound from an InFocus LP240 Projector

it's just a line level signal with a 1/8" stereo phono jack. there is an amp and speakers in the projector, but they're meant for presentations, so there's not much to them. but there is no audio out coming from the projector, so you'd need a separate amp and speakers coming from the ps2.

Speakers

the speakers need a power source. as long as they have that, all you need is a phono plug, or a system that uses line level audio with rca plugs.

you'd be better off hooking the dvd up to an amp and run speakers off of that.

External speakers

I would bypass the speakers from the projector and connect the audio output from the DVD to a sorround sound system or to computer speakers.
