You start with a schematic... This is link to a BX1200 which MAY be fairly close to the BX1800.

http://elektrotanya.com/behringer_bx1200_sch.zip/download.html

Scroll down this link page and find "Get Manual" link to click on. They will let you download two a day unless registered.

On the schematic, assuming it is close to yours, on page 3 right in the cnter is a circuit using an opto-isolator. It appears that this is a limiter circuit which senses symetrical output drive and if the drive goes to one side the opto clamps the input of the power amp to ground... it is possible this is the problem area... especially the electrolytic cap that is in that part of the circuit.

There can be many things causing your problem... It is possible that for the BX1800 they have put THREE of the 3886's in parallel instead of just two to get 180 instead of 120 Watts. The LM3886 is a fantastic chip when one reads the specs and they are only $4 from the right source...

There could be problems with one of the amps in the preamp section.

What number on each channel on behringer ep2500 to set for behringer vp1220 speakers

It is best to start with the mark on the ep2500 directly up (12 o'clock position). Gradually increase the output on your mixing board (MAIN MIX) to get desired volume. I you find that you're getting close to -10 to 0 dB, then start increasing the volume knobs on the ep2500. Watch for clipping on the amp.

Fuse blown on Europower PMP 3000. Where can I find a 10 Amp 250 V ceramic replacement fuse?

You don't need to use a ceramic fuse if one's not available. You can also use a glass cartridge fuse as well. Just be sure the rating is the same. Be aware, though, that fuses seldom blow on their own. Usually it's because something else has shorted. So don't be surprised if replacing the fuse only results in another blown fuse. Behringer stuff is notoriously cheap and under-protected, so by the time the fuse blows it's usually more trouble than it's worth trying to fix. But maybe you'll be lucky and it will be something simple. Good luck, and thanks for using Fixya!

I just want to know the no. of the power amp ic

Here is a SM for the BX1200... it is LIKELY similar to the BX1800... they don't re-engineer very much.

http://elektrotanya.com/behringer_bx1200_sch.zip/download.html

The 1200 uses a pair of LM3886's in parallel the BX1800 MAY use the same amp. You will find a LOT of commonality among the amps in the same series.

You sometimes find TDA 7293 and TDA 7294 in this audio equipment.

I have an Behringer Xenyx 1222FX that won't power on but when switching on the phantom power light does illuminate. Checked all fuses and those are fine

The phantom power light wouldn't illuminate unless the unit was powered on. Possibly the main power indicator light is burned out.

Effects Panel

If other lights are on, I have seen a case where the display does not light for a time, especially if it is cold. The gas in the display takes some time to light up like some neon bulbs... the effects should still work, you just can't see the display. Usually the display will eventually come on after a few minutes after being off for long periods. Sometimes one can encourage the display by external radiation such as a cell phone in close proximity.

See if the FX input indicator is functioning.

If the electronics of the DSP/FX is dead, troubleshooting it is not a DIY unless you have special test equipment. The unit uses two 57002 DSP's controlled by an 80C32 micorprocessor. Beyond checking that the 80C32 is operating and busses have activity, you probably won't be able to do any fruitfull troubleshooting

If NO lights come on in this unit, then the power supply has fried and you don't want that as it is likely caused by the rear power amp arcing out.. Lots of work to repair. Since rest is working this is not the case with yours. ALWAYS be careful to insure speaker leads are solid with this amp as an intermitent lead can blow this amp easily.

Where can I buy a fuse and fuse holder for my Behringer pmp 3000 power mixer - can anyone tell me pleas Lyn

DO NOT REPLACE A FUSE if it blows. You will do additional damage to the unit internally.

When these blow, there is damage inside that must be repaired before restoring power.

To get an exact replacement fuse holder it is best to get it from Behringer parts. This one has a switch in it depending on which way the fuse carrier is inserted.

Behringer PMP5000. The Powered Output B dead

Make sure the three position slide switch is set correctly for the stereo usage, that is NOT the bridged OR the Mon mode.

MAKE SURE the pan pots are set to middle as they control the spit of the audio to the two channels.

This is a class "D" amplifier (switching) and there really isn't any fuse for a single channel.

MAKE SURE your speakon connections are good by swapping your speaker cables.

I repaired my unit and had to do that without schematics... Behringer will not give them out. Mine had a severe arc-over on one side power amp taking out about ten transistors and diodes and one swithcing regulator chip. Had to cut out the "cancer" of the burned board.

This unit uses a complementary output stage that is made up of one transistor on one side and a pair in parallel on the other. This drives the inductor/capacitor filter... I think the switching frequency is between 100KHz and 1 MHz as I recall. All those transistors were gonzo. It also fried the main power switching transistors in the power supply, several smaller transistors, diodes, and the switching regulator chip.
Also two 10 ohm power resistors were fried. They soft start this unit by charging the main caps via two resistors that limit the inrush current.
A small switching supply has to come up first before the main supply which sends the DC to the amp section.

Fuse blowing on start up on Behringer PMH 518M

Try running the amp with no speaker cables connected. If it doesn't blow the fuse you know it's either your Speakon cables or the speakers themselves that are to blame (it's usually the cables)

If it still blows then there is a more serious problem with the power section.
