Dear atul.
if the ram is not working then your PC will not boot at all. If it is booting then there is no problems with the ram.
one possiblilty with ram not working properly is that it will show the wrong amount of RAM in the system information, like if you have installed 512 MB of Ram and it is showing 356 or less then there is a problem, but you have to be sure that you installed 512 MB of Ram. this could be due to FSB speed.

To check this goto Control Panel > System > "General Tab"
here you can see all your computer specifications like
1 Which windows are you using
2 whom is it registered to.
3 Processor, Type, Speed, RAM etc.

if it is not showing the correct amount try changing it with a new one.

Pc can't start and beep in cpu.

when this problem, you cand do below step:
1st:remove all cable in cpu cabinate (power cable, monitor cable, etc.)
2nd:open cpu & remove ram
3rd: Clean it.
4th: push properly ram
5th: now 1st step opposite (Connect all cable)
6th:check it.
if your problem still not solved you can check other ram slot.
otherwise you can check ram other pc. if ram not work, it's problem in ram. otherwise you motherboard's ram problem. ok.

Make sure your motherboard supports that speed of RAM. Your board is listed as accepting up to 1333 DDR3 with a maximum of 4 GB of RAM. Check which slots you put the RAM in, especially if you have 4 slots. Also, make sure the RAM is properly seated in the slots. Sometimes, taking them out and putting back in can make it work. There is also the possibility you didn't ground yourself properly and damaged another component on your motherboard through EMS. The best way to check would be to put the old RAM back in to see if the PC works. If all else fails, its possible you just have bad RAM or the RAM simply isn't compatible with your board.

Dear Expert, I have Asus motherboard P5S800-VM. Now,There is 1.5 Gb ram(512MB+1 GB).If I plug 2Gb ram (1+1), then PC is working very slowly. What can I do for this problem . ram:2x1Gb Kinsgton thanks

First verify that you are using the proper speed of RAM. Second, check the BIOS and make sure that recognizes the RAM you have installed. Sometimes you have to manually set the RAM size in the BIOS in order to get it to work. Finally, I have had several issues with Kingston RAM on different motherboards even when it is the proper type so you would want to try a different manufacturer.

Hi deepakbandi2,

This could be as a result of a bad RAM chip or bad hard disk , due to bad sectors in it,

Please follow the below steps :-

  1. Make sure that you connect your RAM properly in the slot , if required remove the ram , clean it and change the slot where the RAM is fixed , for instance , if you had RAM fitted in slot one , change it to slot 2 , sometimes this could work fine.
  2. Try to do a full format of the partition that you select so that the files are copied properly, if this does not work try to install the operating systems on a different partition than you usually use, for e.g. if you were used to install the OS in drive c , try installing it on drive D , and make sure you have C and D drive formatted properly.
  3. If the above methods don't work , then try changing the RAM with one of your friends and check if everything works fine after RAM change , if it does , your probably need to buy a new RAM.
Hope this helps...:)

Very fast double beeping

Hi there, this error is mainly known as RAM failure. The double beeping means that:

1. Either your RAM sticks are not properly clocked in their slots.
2. Or both of your RAM sticks have burnt out.
3.Or the actual RAM slots have been damaged.

Best way to check is to turn off your PC, let it cool down for a while then open the case, pull out the RAM chips, wipe the golden chips clean, then re insert them into the PC. If you here a click sound this means that it has been properly connected.

If it still does not work then buy/borrow RAM and test to see if it works now.

If after buying/borrowing RAM it still does not work, then there is definitely a problem with the RAM slots and the motherboard will have to be replaced.

Screen is just flashing on and off at start up

Check your RAM in your CPU that it is working properly or not.I mean to say this your RAM ,if shaked or broken will not worked properly after it was done.
So check it first .
If not these all problems are in your computer wire or circuit may be lost.

Ram upgrade issue msi 845 pro motherboard

you should check bios for the ram settings, voltage and speed, they will be printed on the package the ram came in.

also, you don't want to mix ram up, they will run at the slowest ones speed.

also, most ram is used in pairs (2 at a time) using the 3, depending on the motherboard will give you errors.

try entering the bios on boot, and set the ram setting properly. you should see something that flashes on boot, like press f8 or del for bios. change your ram settings, save and exit. type back with your motherboard and ram model numbers if this solution did not work.

Multiple RAM's usage

Check wether both the ram modules are of the same speed rating ie 266 400 800. Generally ram prefer's to be of the same speed rating and can cause this type of problem when they are not matched.
