Without knowing the motherboard you have in your computer, and without knowing whether or not your Network card is built on to the motherboard (onboard) or if it's a peripheral there's not all that much I can do for you. If you don't have the CD that came with the motherboard you will need to visit the manufacturer's website and download the drivers to a thumb drive, then transport them to that computer. If you can't figure out what type of motherboard or NIC you have in your computer, download a program called "Unknown Devices", that should help you pinpoint what you need. Hope this helps!

You must first install Windows. Then when you go to the Intel site be sure to download the drivers for your version of Windows.

How to partition and format a 320 gig all in one partition

Do you want to format it from windows or format it for installing windows? If you are formtting from windows you are gonna need a partitioning tool like this one. Just install it, run it, click on create partition, choose the type of partition(FAT32, NTFS etc.,) and the size. Apply the changes and its done.
If you want to format it while installing windows, boot from the CD/DVD and look for an option called format this partition using NTFS file system(quick) and hit enter. It will format the drive and install windows.

Can not locate net work adapter

Possible cause:

The hard drive contains all the necessary drivers that makes the computer function and that includes Internet connection. When you installed the operating system and all other software it does not mean you installed the driver for the motherboard which contains the drivers for the LAN.

Run the drivers CD that came with the motherboard. If you don't have the CD. contact the PC manufacturer for the driver CD. Otherwise, you can purchase an add on NIC(network interface card).

Hard drive replacement

Hard drives are easy to replace, they are located in a separate compartment. Depending upon the model of your laptop, it could be located on the bottom or on the front or left or right hand side of the laptop. The hard drive may have an adapter connector that fits over the 44 data pins on the hard drive.
For further information please click on this link :-
After you install a new hard drive, you need to format the hard drive and install Windows on the hard drive plus the device drivers of the devices that are installed on the laptop eg. video, audio, modem, LAN and wireless etc.

Hi I have a WD1200BEVS hard drive making a musical two tone buzz. Any chance for repair?

If you can boot up your computer, I would back up your data before your hard drives fail completely. It is unusal to have both hard drives go at the same time.
Mere mortals such as me and you cannot repair hard drives, basically buy new ones to replace the faulty drives.
To reinstall Windows on your new hard drive, you will need the Windows XP or Vista CD install disk plus all the device drivers for all the installed devices in your computer (eg. video, audio, LAN etc.) and install those that Windows could not install.
Make sure when you download these device drivers that you select the ones that is specific to the version of the Windows operating system you installing.
